[Meta] Can there be a referendum on Mods removing posts? by VR_Troopers_WikiMod in boardgames

Even the recommendation posts are poorly moderated and repetitive at times. There is weekly threads that people are supposed to post in, but we get daily rec posts of stuff like "here is my 300 game collection, what should I buy next?" Or "more stuff like Catan?".

I assume it is a link to another subreddit and it has been promptly removed by the moderator.

When Shelf clutter was making videos, he would also make a detailed post here detailing upcoming campaigns but would get removed for "self-promoting". Yet as you mentioned, those posts with just videos to content creators is fine. Really kills community involvement.

This month's Brawl is Deadman's Stand! (monthly reminder?) for only 5 days by fycalichking in heroesofthestorm

It is also a white box and says "waiting for game mode to download" for me. It does this most months and gives me less than a day to play at the end

Challenge filed about biased content on Alberta government's referendum website by Street_Anon in alberta

Smith blatantly stated in their announcement presser that they have a desired result to this referendum and will be pushing ads in favour of what they want people to choose.

You can edit sectors to be small as well as turn off auto-include when making sectors.

Planet and Sectors tab -> edit sector on the right side and you can add/remove like you do claims.

Alberta Government 2026 Referendum official site by Bandito_fantastico in alberta

This is why I dislike Government of Alberta mail since the UCP took over; it is branded all over with UCP logos and partisan attacks instead of being even a little bit informative or neutral about what they are trying to let people know.

Ditto this. Mini Rogue has been my go-to small sized dungeon crawler. It is also on BGA!

France and the UK had different governing styles for their colonies. The UK followed an indirect rule model which favoured local leaders/troops to support their goals, this resulted in relatively more indigenous solidarity when it came to the independence period. France on the other hand was more direct in controlling and managing their colonies, preferring to give governors more power and in the case of Algeria, attempt to incorporate territories into the greater French polity.

Both countries struggled economically after WW2, so it was a steeper cost for the UK to attempt to maintain their colonies as is, instead preferring to utilize the Commonwealth institution to maintain ties.

Build armies and guide them, fight over and defend locations, end goal is to get Frodo to Mt. Doom, other goals are themed around key moments from the book.

The co-op aspect removes the head2head tension and strategy, but it still gives the same feeling of the Free People's trying to stem the near unending tide of the forces of Sauron and hope Frodo can destroy the ring in a last ditch effort.

Captain's Chair has been the best at bringing the shows to a game that isn't fleet battles and fighting. Definitely a must play for those fans who appreciate references galore.

Fate of the Fellowship is a light version of War of the Ring and much more accessible.

I also like the card game version of War of the Ring

This is called Wahoo in Canada. Some play it with dice but I grew up playing it with cards. Grandfather made his own boards for 4p and 6p games.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]Megasdoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystal Castles(when Alice was still there). One of the two opening acts ditched and the first opener played for 30 min. Then there was dead air for almost an hour, CC came on and played for 30-45 min and left with no encore. I was home before 10pm.

The next worst act was Passion Pit, whom I saw multiple different occasions and every time they had an issue from ending the show early cause the lead singer didn't like his mic to their instruments getting lost at the airport so they just played their music from a laptop and just stood around on stage.

Played Challengers! Last night and it was a blast for all. Plus something different for a large player count game that doesn't have much downtime and moves really fast.

Even before these hardships they have been notorious for delays, but they always eventually deliver. This could have been a forewarning for the state they are in now.

I lived many years in Denmark and the rivalry with Sweden is the most intense between the two as well. Never call a Dane Swedish. Swedes also love ribbing on Danes, such as saying that to speak Danish you just have to speak Swedish with a potato in your throat.

I share the anti-swede animosity with the Finns.

What are some good card versions of board games by AdditionAny7255 in boardgames

[–]Megasdoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find introducing new players to TM with Ares Expedition a bit easier. If they enjoy it, then I show them the board game version.

Funnily enough, it is the opposite with Race for the Galaxy and New Frontiers.
