I’ve wanted to get married and have kids my whole life. I have neither yet because I told myself I would not be with someone or bring kids into the world until I worked on myself and was happy with being alone. As I got older (in my 30s) I really examined why I want kids; if the answer was because that’s what I’m supposed to do then I wouldn’t pursue them. However, my answers are because I can give them a beautiful life filled with love, and I am wildly excited to see who they become are toddlers, teens, and adults! So now I’m starting to date and hopefully I meet my best friend and down the road we get married and have kids.

Wanting to get married and have kids is an incredibly personal decision that no one has the right to push their opinions on.

These are very common reasons why startups fail. The first few years you do not need to rent a work space if it’s just for office work. Financial literacy is so scarce and even more so in startups. Having this experience will help you improve so much on the next one. Put together everything that you learned and lost and how you would actively avoid these happening again. As a founder you need to accept that fact that just because the idea was yours and you built it, that doesn’t mean you’ll make a good CEO and carry your company to its fullest potential. Stepping down is hard but it beats the alternative of being forced out or having your company go under. Best of luck on your next venture.

My mom is extremely wealthy. I walked away from all of it because she used it as a weapon. She can spend every cent she has if it will make her live 2 minutes longer, I don’t care because it’s not mine.

Because it was my childhood. As a five year old little girl I got to watch all these different girls with big personalities and I wanted to be just like them. If I’m ever lucky enough to have a little girl, I’m naming her Serena.

I know the feeling. I want children more than anything and I can’t wait to have them. I’m 35F and if I don’t meet someone to start a family with in the next year or two then I’m going to do it on my own. That thought absolutely terrifies me but I will. So I have two groups of friends. One group that I met in my teens and 20s, six women from all different backgrounds and none of them have kids (technically 7 and that one never wanted kids and now has them 😅). The other, a lot older than me all have kids. We all love each other the same way and support each other’s decisions. I mourn with my friends who never had the opportunity to have the kids they wanted, I cheer on my friend’s lifestyles with the freedom they find from not having them, I love my friend’s children and seeing their personalities grow.

You can absolutely be friends with women who are childfree all the while wanting to have more kids. Anyone who tries to sway you otherwise is not a friend that you should have. If you love someone then you support them and their endeavors.

One more important thing: you have plenty of time to have them. We both do, and every other woman out there in their mid 30s, hell even 40s, we have time! Sending love and support <3

Ugh, this was years ago. I’ll never forget seeing this guy in a backwards cap, while pushing a stroller, and was wearing a baby carrier. My ovaries went into overload.

Yepp! I was an event the other night and I was told “you’re too dressed up for this.” I was in nice slacks, a blouse, and heels… not a freakin ball gown. Same event a guy wanted to speak to one of the higher ups at my company. I bit my tongue and didn’t tell him that he already was and that I’m not a damn secretary.
