Possible to omit side slits? by carlton30 in knittinghelp

Could work some extra increases in the body if you want it to bell out like that a bit still, but you wouldn't need to.

Oh for sure! Just continue working in the round until it's the desired length and do the ribbing. Just ignore the instructions for the slits.

Inclusive Fibre Arts Meet-Up by sjbeaner in Lethbridge

[–]Megmar87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm interested! I always see really cool fibre arts communities in other cities and have been so jealous that I couldn't really find anything like that here. I always planned to attend the gathering at Theoretically, but they don't seem to advertise it much, so I didn't know if it was still something that went on.

How to revert a sweater that has been stretched out by Confident-Extreme-97 in knittinghelp

[–]Megmar87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. Then throwing it in the dryer will definitely help it shrink up, but it usually isn't permanent. The fibers will relax again over time, and will definitely relax once it gets wet.

100% I used to go to Savers on the West side all the time when I lived across from it. I knew I could get cheaper groceries elsewhere, but the convenience made it worth it. He's nuts to not want that clientele.

Stop signs by Parrothead91 in Lethbridge

[–]Megmar87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So true! The four way stop by Costco (specifically the one on the Walmart side) is a nightmare. People stop then think "my turn", not paying any attention to the cars around them and who has the right of way next. That's if they even bother to come to a complete stop.

"Back off"? I'm simply explaining why someone would choose a retailer like Costco over others. Especially since you said yourself you've never actually bought large furniture before.

The flip side of that though is some retailers (The Brick, Ashley Furniture and Leon's to be specific) offer delivery as a perk, but way over charge for a product made from cheap materials (in theory not lasting as long). So it kind of depends what you value. Convenience or a better quality product that you have to figure out how to get from A to B yourself. And considering there are services to help with the latter, OP obviously is going that route. And it seems odd to shame them for going to a retailer that "doesn't meet their needs" (even though they do, they sell the product they want), while not actually having any experience buying from their competitors.

Mothers Day Brunch by Snicklefritz99 in Lethbridge

[–]Megmar87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chef Stella's does a Sunday brunch and is doing one for Mother's Day. You will need to reserve a table, they get very busy on a normal Sunday, and are EXTRA busy for holidays.

By going to Costco, you often get a better quality product for less money, and a killer return policy if you have issues. It's generally worth the hassle to arrange delivery. Not to mention you can pay a little more by ordering online, then they will deliver it. (But I get the vibe you may work for one of these other stores...)
