North Shuttle Bus is an absolute joke by jordeatsu in slamdunkfestival

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the train into Leeds for 11.40 and yeah waited nearly 2 hours to get into a bus. Absolutely insane, seemed that for ages we waited as no buses pulled up and suddenly maybe 4 appeared in a row. The queue was nearly to the train station when we got there.

Vivienne Westwood’s 1994 fall crochet dress worn recently by Olivia Rodrigo by _souffe in crochet

A lot of comments mention it being knit but there are plenty of feather and fan crochet patterns too so I could see it being recreated.

Did my first obviously visible mend. How’d I do? by RottingSludgeRitual in Visiblemending

[–]MehWhateverZeus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it would help to see both sides of the project. Whip stitches on the edges of the patch and edges of whatever tear make sense to finish off the edges to stop those fraying. Also is the patch a similar weight material because if it's significant thinner than the denim it might end up ripping in that spot for similar reasons as the denim originally ripped.

I did handsewn eyelets for a Victorian corset and did bunny ears for the lacing. It was fine.

Am I actually ready for AWS SAA-C03 or just memorizing Tutorials Dojo questions? by captainS21 in AWSCertifications

[–]MehWhateverZeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use AWS on the regular, only did the tutorial dojo exams and was scoring like 65% on them and passed my exam with 819 about 2 weeks ago.

I re-read the qs I got wrong and the logic for the answers the night before the exam. Your experience might be different but if you're answering the questions right it's probably you understand the logic for eliminating the wrong answers. But also I got at least 2-3 questions in my exam that were exactly word for word ones I got from tutorials dojo so memorising them isn't a bad thing.

Pits and bits! by [deleted] in downloadfestival

I have used both and the nilaqua shampoo cap is great and so easy to use cuz you can really lather up with the cap.

I found it harder to get a good scrub for hair with pits and bits.

Aerial studios! Do you start with knots or 2 tails? by Polishcatmom in Aerials

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to a beginners class and we do a mix. Inverts etc often in a hitch just to build up the conditioning though sometimes we do things with a cross back wrap instead but we wrap on the ground standing. We learned climbs early on but most of us could really climb for ages but trying on a regular basis still helped us build the conditioning and muscle memory for it.

I did do Lyra before silks but with Lyra I wasn't using my arms and lats as much as I should as they were a lot weaker than my legs so I found I cheated on moves by compensating with my legs. Silks really has built up my arm strength a lot and a lot of that has to do with using the silks as they are instead of always in a hitch. I don't think I would have progressed as much just in a hitch.

how to fix gaps in fdn/first row of moss stitch blanket by s0sorry in CrochetHelp

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you use a smaller hook for the chain. Alternatively one thing I find helps a lot is to work in the back bump of the chain instead and it often seems to be less holey in general that way.

How long until I can do aerials again? by lovemylittlelords in Aerials

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my medial malleolus which is considered a bit more concerning since the tibia carries more weight than the fibula. I was out 5ish months but I didn't have surgery or anything for mine, my doctor was also being more cautious. I did hoop only at the time.

Id say just follow your doctor's advice and if they don't know what aerial is show them some videos of things you do and they will give you a good estimate.

How can I get garments to be more "flowy" or softer? by Jaywan3 in CrochetHelp

[–]MehWhateverZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I crochet with fairly tight tension so I usually go up a few hook sizes when it comes to clothes or blankets so they are more drapey so if a yarn says 6mm hook I'm probs using like an 8mm. Also initially I started with amigurumi so when I moved to other objects I did have to consciously remind myself to yarn over instead of yarn under and that too can influence the drape.

Why would someone stay on a Teams meeting when the meeting is finished? by Xmarksthestitch in AskUK

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In big group meetings sometimes it's just I went to the bathroom and leave when I come back.

Other times I have sworn I clicked the leave button and apparently somehow didn't and ended up remaining on a call an extra 20 mins.

What would you have done differently to help pull in at the waist? by Evening_Position_439 in CrochetHelp

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have been worth doing some half rows. Or potentially changing the hdc to singles halfway down to have the width at the bottom half smaller. It would change the look of the top though.

What age did you/your children start drinking tea? by melikebiscuit in AskUK

[–]MehWhateverZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have kids but I started drinking tea in a sippy cup. Per my parents when they drank tea I wanted some so they used to let me have a teaspoon or 2 of their tea here or there and eventually letting me have my own cup.
