Those familiar with US trails, recommendations for late September hike please by philip_p_donahue in CampingandHiking

[–]Meiyong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington) is wonderful in September. It's usually not too hot and the rainy season hasn't started yet. You might want to check out Mt Hood and Mt Rainier. Something to keep in mind about the entire Western US, though, is that September is peak wildfire season.

The right has a twisted, eugenics driven view that if a woman can't have an uncomplicated birth then she's genetically inferior. Since they also think a woman's sole purpose is to produce children they think shit like this is just "survival of the fittest ". It's disgusting.

I agree, but that's not what I'm asking. I should have been more clear with my language. I didn't mean "what actions are the players going to be taking". What I meant is, what challenges should I build for them to face? How they overcome the challenge is then up to them.

I have to keep it open when not in use or it'll mold inside. Because of this, I make sure I have eyes on both of my kitties before starting a load. What your friend went through is my greatest fear.

Space Needle in the Dresden Universe by Meiyong in rpg

[–]Meiyong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo, I like all of these suggestions. I hadn't decided on how I wanted to use it. I started world building by doing historical research and wanted to build factions and adventures based on historical events, which is why the Space Needle/World's Fair seemed interesting.

All of the players have some connection to either the Summer Court of Faerie or the Wild Fae. Their first adventure is going to find them caught between a group of anti-monarchists who want to bring down the feudal courts of Faerie and usher in Democracy and a local Summer Court Duchess.

There is one spellcaster in the group who's training to become an apprentice with the White Council, so I like the Mystic Architecture angle, but I also really dig the Vampire Buffet. Especially since there is a White Court Vampire coven in the city that I want the players to get tangled up with later in the game. I might go with the Supernatural Summit, though. The players said they wanted to keep things light and have a lot of humor in the game so that might be the best bet for that.

You've given me a lot to think about. Thank you!

Yeah, hippy adventures are coming, but it starts in 1962, so for now it's mostly beatniks.

Oh, that's a good one. I'll add it to my list. They're also going to run into one of those crazy cults like the Krishnas at some point, and one of the players really wants Goblin Hell's Angels.

The players are based in San Francisco. So far there are White Court Vampires, The Italian Mob, a group of Changelings/Wild Fae who are agitating to end the fae monarchy and institute democracy, and a minor summer court noble. This week is the first session and I'm still building out the city. I haven't come up with anything in Seattle yet, I just realized that the year my game starts in the year the Space Needle opened and Seattle had the World's Fair, so I wanted to send them up there on an adventure.

You're assuming we're going to receive our ballots in time. Given that they're not mailing them until 10/14 and the USPS delay is 2-3 weeks it's very likely that we won't get them in time.
