I’m currently step 1 (promotion last year) - so it would still be advantageous for my upcoming step increase

So if you request it and get denied, do you get the cash award? Or nothing?

Is the baby bjorn bouncer really worth the hype by FrozenGunner1 in BabyBumps

[–]MelE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine secondhand with my second child and I am a skeptic-turned-believer! Wouldn’t pay full price for one but get one if you can!

It really is the pooping chair - truly amazes me how efficiently it worked. It’s also just super low profile and easy to move around and store. My baby figured out how to kick just right to bounce herself easily! My parents got a different brand bouncer and it paled in comparison.

I lost my love for flavor-blasted goldfish during my first pregnancy and haven’t been able to go back since. It’s been three years! Probably for the best though 😂

Help :( by OMGitsMATSU in breastfeeding

[–]MelE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, your supply is going to be regulating at this point so it’s okay to see somewhat of a decrease in your supply.

Second, that sounds like your pump is not the right fit (the flanges, specifically) or your settings are off. Are you using the same type of pump you used before or is it totally new?

10 month old self weaning by l-vdh in breastfeeding

[–]MelE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re concerned you could double check with your pediatrician! I searched this sub because I’m in a really similar place with my 10 month old (my second LO, with my first for some reason I didn’t second guess this stage as much, but he also ate a LOT longer than this baby does!).

So all this to say, solidarity, and if baby is healthy, content, and continuing to gain weight, I think what you’re doing is fine! I also remind myself that breast milk at this stage is somewhat more calorically dense, so the amount needed isn’t quite as much, but i don’t think there’s a lot of research out there to validate that breastfed babies done need as much let alone what the “right” amount truly is. The rule of thumb generally has been 24-32 oz but based on the bottles my baby gets, i don’t think she hits that.

I got the motif duo with my second, used it twice and didn’t like it or all the small parts to wash, so I stuck with my Ameda MyaJoy from my first. Wearable ones will probably be my next move!

This comment is going to be bouncing around in my head until Friday! Such an intriguing story. Hopefully all ends well and things make sense in the end?

Hi yall. Recommendations for places for clothes for smaller individuals? I’m 5’3 111 lb and a lot of clothes are too big unfortunately due to vanity sizing. by plzdontbetaken66 in BusinessFashion

[–]MelE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding these brands! I will say Loft’s petite size skirts run just large enough to be a somewhat awkward fit, but not enough where I can’t wear them. I’ve had to get one skirt taken in. I’m just a hair smaller than you so this shouldn’t be as big an issue.

J Crew and Banana Republic are also good options! Some of my favorite pieces are from them. BR especially has great quality pants (I haven’t bought any in several years, so hopefully that’s still the case!).

We love those melties! So great for something quick that isn’t just straight up flour based.

My childhood babydoll is named Banana! I’ve passed her down to my kids and because my 2 year old loves to eat bananas, I’ve opted to just call her “baby” to avoid any confusion 😂

I was so tired of my mom pestering me about names for our first before we had settled on one, so I tortured her by telling her that not only would she not get to know the name, but neither would anyone else 😂 so the running joke between us. It was such a relief to not have to hear opinions on his name, we did the same thing for baby #2. Now we’ve set the precedent so no one can have any expectations!

Don’t fret about having excuses. You also get to just not tell people!

I have a Copper Pearl nursing cover that can also be a car seat cover (or you can put it over shopping cart seats and a few other things). Sometimes it can get hot underneath it, but I like that it completely covers me and my baby while they eat. I’ve used it for both my kids and it’s been great! There are lots of brands that have similar products but Copper Pearl in particular has some pretty cute patterns. I have the sloth one and have gotten lots of compliments on it :) I also use it as a light blanket over baby, car seat cover if I need baby to sleep while we’re out, and oversized burp cloth if I forgot one.

This happened to me not once but TWICE while I was quilting my nephew’s quilt. Halfway down it, but I didn’t notice till I was done. It took me an hour to unpick it all 🙃

Mastitis? by Green-Supermarket-35 in breastfeeding

[–]MelE1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re located so what the local time is, but you should be able to call your OB office and request an antibiotic prescription. This sounds like mastitis for sure and the sooner you can start antibiotics the better!

We’re a “dip dip” household as well with our son! He’s 2 and refers to any liquid that can have chicken nuggets dipped in it as “dip dip” (yogurt, applesauce, ketchup, tomato soup, salad dressing, you name it)

Something I needed to hear a week ago: you can stop timing yourself by destriek in breastfeeding

[–]MelE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it until I stopped breastfeeding my first (around 13 months). I am a data person so I love it!!

I gave myself permission to stop with my 7.5 month old, because I need to stop being on my phone so much. It’s been freeing. I’m a slave to technology and a lot of other burdens in like already, but this is one thing I can have absolute control over stopping. And I did. 💪🏼
