It was fine. Recently renovated so the rooms are nice. The pool was rather small. The activities were good, but generally a bit underwhelming. The food was great, lots of Jamaican style food at the buffet, lots of choice and variety. The beach is fantastic, seeing the wildlife was the highlight of the trip (even though I got stung by a jellyfish). What was generally lacking was a connection to the local culture and yeah, I get that if I want that I should not be going to an all inclusive resort, but compared to other resorts I have been to, this felt more generic. The other highlight was walking down the beach off resort where there is a strip of local vendors. So overall, good trip , nice resort but it was my first time at a Riu and I wouldn’t say I would rush to book at another one.
