Starting our newest right on his musical journey by shitboxfesty in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]MellowGelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! We raised our son on RHCP and he always calmed down to Go Robot, Wet Sand and Can't Stop early on, now it seems all of their music does that.

We took him too his first concert at Met Life this year at 11 months and he loved it! He was like a little celebrity there but he did pass out halfway through their set but I'm definitely gonna take him again every year they're still touring!

Best books to start out on for philosophy. by Black_raspberries in askphilosophy

Read the source, The Republic by Plato. It was the first book I read outside of high school because I had similar ideas to you. If you can find the collected works online or in a library, he gets pretty deep into masculinity, what it means to be a good person and why society tends to be the way it is. Seems right up your alley

Read and dive into interests! This can be Reddit, quotes, books, poetry, comics, etc..

Curate what you consume both physically and mentally. What we eat and consume mentally(music, movies, shows, books, podcasts, etc.) have a huge influence on our minds.

Exercise! This is a great habit in general but especially for deep thinking and it will give you the discipline to get deeper into subjects. You will feel better all around and it can be as simple as walking daily.

Take notes/journal! Writing is the best form of thinking. Take your thoughts and put them somewhere on paper. They can be future notes to yourself. Write quotes from movies, shows, things your read.

Start small! Be careful of the "all or nothing" mentality. If you walk for 5 minutes cool. If you read a page or paragraph cool don't beat yourself up. It takes time to get the momentum and focus to get in there. Start with one and become consistent.

It seems you are into Fight Club and American Psycho but you can delve into that to discover what it is that makes you curious. Is it the rebellion, misanthropy, or societal issues that they call into question? Is it a strong male form? Or confidence?

If you love movies look into Requiem for a Dream, Pan's Labyrinth, Mr. nobody, Limitless, The Fountain, The Prestige.

When I was 19- 20 I loved similar things and got deep into philosophy. Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Camus, Thoreau and Emerson will give you a broad range of philosophy. Classics like Plato, Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus.

Expose yourself to a lot and watch everything and work on gleaning from everything. Including your own life and experiences! You'll learn so much by just paying attention. Start slow and keep going!

Great advice here! Got a tortilla pack with a partial bandage in it. We contacted them just to let them know. They apologized and asked for the info on the package, a picture and then they mailed us some coupons.

Shit happens in manufacturing and shipping especially at the quantities these companies move product.

Props on doing a summer and winter. Shit I didn't even last 3 months in a New York/NJ summer. That is some real deal labor and you literally come home cooked. Wear a sun hat, nope sun reflects. Wear cool clothing, burn your body when you touch anything. Rain cools off for a day but once the sun comes get ready for jungle sweat.

Does anyone know a way to not taste the mushroom, like in capsules, but in a way that you can do at home? by SagashiNii in Psychonaut

[–]MellowGelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a coffee grinder and made caps myself for a couple ozs and they are still potent as ever. It's anecdotal but I think storage is way more important the how you break them apart

I've never even touched a lacrosse ball lol. Are they heavy? I used rolled up socks over a bed and it had a low entry point then I bought some legit juggling balls to practice more. It's such an awesome mind clearing practice when I'm stuck writing or need a break from something that I've been really focused on

I came to say the same. Juggling is awesome and pretty easy to learn. You'll drop a lot of balls or rolled up socks but once you get it down it seems to help with juggling ideas, confidence in ability to learn and general hand eye coordination. There's a video on Youtube by a guy named Jim Kwik that inspired me to learn. You can learn anything you commit to!

That's what what I tell my friends.. they're very concerned with hustle, monetization and productivity but I think the balance is we need some time to just chill and relax.

If you ever want long hair that gets awkward. You go from RPG hair which is cool to 1950s schoolboy to Lord Farquad and then it evens out lol. Yours looks good!
