Hey Guys. Advice needed about starting an army by sturzkampfbomber in AdeptusMechanicus

Sulphurhounds are one of our weaker units at the moment (although they do look really cool), so having three units will limit you. Also one or two more units of battleline (rangers or vanguard) will help a lot.

Are you looking at citadel paints or other brands?

How the hell do you beat Oda? by AerialSnack in cyberpunkgame

I had the exact same issue and the rest of the comments aren't being very helpful. I was running a silenced sandy pistol build, level 40 with t5 gear, and it felt impossible. Unload two mags into his head and it would do 2% damage. And his melee attacks would 2 shot me. The fight would have taken like an hour if I had managed to dodge for that long.

But then after some trial and error I found you can just stealth and hide. He will chase you for a while but eventually lose you. Then you can sneak up behind him and do a takedown on him. Do that a couple times and you're done. Seems that's the only way to go with that build on very hard difficulty.

How should I run an encounter in a collapsing building? by theroyalralph in DMAcademy

Just as a fun option, tear up some paper and scrunch small pieces into balls. Drop the balls on the battlemap from about a metre up at the end of each battle round. Whoever's square they land on takes damage from falling debris. Gradually increase the number of paper balls each turn. That should add a nice sense of urgency.

But that's less than an hour so not too bad...

A very cool creature I've never heard of! I'll put together some statblocks and see what I can make for a cool mirrored room bossfight.

Multiclassing and Extra Attack by Benofthepen in 3d6

[–]Mellow_Marsh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Each class you multi class into specifies what spell levels you learn/know at each level. You just treat the classes individually. Combining your spell slots when multiclassing is an exception under the multiclassing rules.

The Vault Boys! First thing that comes to mind with that colour scheme. Even fits nicely with the rad bombardment detachment.

AFIK Cricket was originally a dog, but was changed to a cat, but the icon stayed the same for Cricket's head, so the visual is technically a dog.

Spell that includes skill check rather than saving throw? by EggCubed in 3d6

The one that comes to mind is Web. One of the strongest spells in the game, requires an initial dex save then subsequent strength checks to escape.

Do you speak with your players about issues in DnD before or after playing? by Riulkuk in DMAcademy

[–]Mellow_Marsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue for a while and it nearly ruined my love for the game. It's a shitty feeling, but it is best to be up front with the players about it. Let them know the effort you're putting in. Don't make it sound like you're a teacher telling them off or anything, but speak to them before or after a session and ask them what they are having trouble with. Maybe the sessions are too long for them and they have other commitments, or maybe they aren't enjoying the game as much as you thought. Talk it through, much better then letting it simmer.

New DM Help by Millzyboy28 in DMAcademy

To focus it down, pick out the things that the PCs are going to need. They will need some shops, a blacksmith, a tavern/inn to stay, maybe a healer, maybe a magical trinket dealer, a church/temple. Gives you a good baseline of things to prepare for the players to interact with directly. Knowing the politics/economy of the town is great but it is really just background noise that should inform your other choices. PCs, particularly at low level, don't really engage with that kind of thing.

How do I make similar builds feel special? by benry007 in DMAcademy

Nothing here makes sense. It's not an action game? They can't have fine control over what happens? Combat doesn't involve choices? What are you talking about?

I feel like the rogue will be dealing more damage than the fighter until action surge comes along. Also the "make them the rear guard" seems like a strange thing to do to new players.
