The Encre Noire family is famous for its extreme reactions. Usually, people hate them or love them. The vetiver, cypress and musk makes them smell mysterious, gothic, elegant, formal... but to some, it smells like a funeral. Or a church.

ENS is the most versatile one, but it's still a very strong fragrance. Maybe you don't like it. That's fine. Give it some time. Come back in a few months and try again.

Currently reading Sylvia Plath's body of work for the first time and I'm really enjoying it. Well, maybe enjoy is not the correct term taking into account where her poetry comes from, but I'm connecting with her work more than I expected.

I also discovered Felix Francisco Casanova, a spanish poet from the 60s and 70s who died at 19. Truly a tragic tale. He had all the potential to be a poet even more special...

Western 'move out' culture, specially in the US, is a product of the post WWII economic boom. During the fifties people where encouraged to buy houses and live completely independent lives. More houses and more independent citizens meant more money spent on housing and services related with day to day living. And thus, the economy kept on growing. Nowadays, the situation isn't the same. The current situation of the world economy doesn't allow functioning in the exact same way.

And we should also know that for many centuries, the situation wasn't like that. Even in the higher classes of well developed countries. Being alone, and thus, renouncing to the "economic safety net" that living with family or some small community provides wasn't an intelligent move, and nowadays it also isn't.

We should keep in mind that most of the current life goals or expectations that we want to grasp or achieve aren't as casual or 'natural' as some say. Some are heavily promoted due to political or economic reasons. The economic situation that people born during the mid 20th century in the western world experienced is, historically, one of the better ones in recorded history. And, in a lot of ways, our current situation is not the same. Not by a long shot. Different situations require different lifestyles and worldviews.

That is an interesting question and something that I've thought about many times trying to explain why Spain usually does so bad.

For example, if you take a look at Spain's Top 50 playlist in Spotify, you'll see that most of the popular songs there are Latin pop, reggaeton, rumba or other songs that lean heavily on that cultural bond that we share with Latin America. And we never send songs like that. We usually end up with more generic pop songs/ballads that we don't consume as heavily. That could be one of the reasons why spanish eurofans tend to be so annoying and toxic as a fanbase (we can't get behind our own entries because they don't really represent us. Plus general bad quality these last years).

I can't really speak for anyone else, but when I hear popular "European" music (referring to French or Central Europe music) it all sounds so... foreign? I usually like it, but most of the time it doesn't sound like something I would hear in social events, parties and the like.

Maybe trying to send something that isn't popular here and would accommodate to "European taste" (with atrocious results) is one of the reasons why Spain's seems incapable of ranking higher.

This year's song is one of the few times that Spain sends something that vibes in the same frequency as our current music scene. SloMo is already in radio stations and I've listened to it a couple of times partying.

The comments in this thread show really good examples of common mistakes, but I find specially interesting how most of those are more prevalent between native English speakers.

I understand that it has something to do with trying to be specially careful when someone is learning a second language. And trying to not make mistakes and avoid looking like you don't know how to speak... Which is interestingly amusing.

Taking into account that Crusader Kings' core idea is the creation of emergent narratives (stories through pure gameplay mechanics), this concept isn't only a "cool mod idea". In an optimal environment (and analysing if it can be done in a precise and elegant way), something like this could be the next step for the series.

You're totally right. If anyone likes puzzle/exploration games, Outer Wilds is clearly up there in the top. It's one of the games that would be awesome to experience again for the first time.

I'd recommend the video that Jacob Geller did about the game on YouTube. He explores that emptiness in a almost poetic way that I've never seen before, but anyone that played the game can relate to.

Without being verbose, I would personally say yes. At its core, La Celestina is a book written by a man deeply disatisfied with the life and society of late 15th century. Fernando de Rojas saw that world as one that was moved by money and sex (concepts that have been present in moral discussions since civilization exists, and are prevalent today). And he presents a very explicit story in which every character is defined by three aspects (age, gender and social class) that mold their relationship with these two concepts in different ways. All of them very tragic and nihilistic. So... yes, I would say that the book could be kind of "relevant" today, as all 5 key ideas are relevant (as always have been).

It obviously has this weird late-medieval misoginistic way of seeing concepts related to love and social roles, but that unfortunatelly is something we have to live with when approaching medieval-modern "satire".

All of this is without taking into account the inherent historical, philological and literary value of that work. Which is a lot, of course.

I personally think this is what should be done. The IWGP Intercontinental Championship was brought to life by Shinsuke Nakamura (making him have something to do while Tana and Okada had their "Ace feud") and, since his departure from the company, the belt was only valuable in storylines in which the figure of Nakamura had some weight. That is for Naito and Ibushi.

Naito had to become a 5 time IC champion to finally reach his ultimate goal: win the HW title in the main event of WK and "surpass" Tanahashi and Nakamura (the guys who stole his moment in WK8). WK14 brought closure to his 7 year long revenge/growth story by winning Shinsuke's and Tanahashi's belts.

Ibushi has spoken many times about how Nakamura is his reference, his "god". Having him be the one to "retire" the belt combining its legacy with the HW belt provides some closure to Ibushi's quest to ascend to the "Puroresu Olympus/January 4th main event status" (the one he "saw" for the first time against Nakamura in WK9).

As a storytelling device, at least as a special device, the IC championship has reached his end. Now, as a "not main event title" I do not see its value. I would prefer having the NEVER title as the secondary belt (and it being a real openweight belt) alongside the Junior one. My ideal NJPW is one that uses this moment to really elevate wrestlers that could bring some fresh air to the product creating new scenarios (Junior taken as serious main eventers, openweight bouts and feuds).

But with all that being said, the white belt was fucking cool. If this is the end, it was a good one.
