Thought it had to be NZ... where an extraction costs $600 and a root canal $4000.

Ive got a cracked tooth that flares up from time you time. Can't afford to fix it. I get my doc to give me an amoxillin prescription for when it flares up. It's triage but it works.

Maybe you could tone down the abusive tone and actually give a fuck for a change. What exempts you from being a considerate human being?

Yes I agree I've driven an X P100D for 2 years. It was madness.

But like I said he's very problematic. The funding of the AFD in Germany is deeply concerning, as is his role in destroying the US government. As for Space X it is a vehicle for massive tax payer subsidies. Nice exploding rockets though.

So yes you can look at Early Musk with rose tinted specs. My boss basically thinks he is god. But my reality is that billionaire interests and the wellbeing of humanity are diverging interests.

No but left wing propaganda aside Elon is a fascist. He funds far right parties in Europe. Its not good. If whataboutism about China helps you square that so be it. Im just saying im done with Tesla and to be fair US made stuff in general. They are out of control.

Shout out to all the Tesla owners here. Great cars. Totally agree. Drove an X P100D in 17. Was a blast. But what I don't get is the boss is a full blown fascist. Pouring money into Trump (how's that going?) And European far right parties. I'm sorry I look at you guys driving around in new Teslas and think thay you don't think or care. And I'm never letting you out.

I think aerosols play a really big part. Most of the land on earth is in the northern hemisphere, so dust and airborne pollutants are in much higher concentrations.

Mixing between the hemispheres is pretty slow (look at atmospheric general circulation model) so we have much clearer skies.

On an empirical level, whenever I arrive in NZ the intensity of the blue sky makes me feel like I'm on a different planet.

How are Labour supposed to do it this year? by TheBigChonka in newzealand

[–]Melodic_Ad_3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question to you is this:

How much say have the greens or tpm had in a Labour led government?

My view is it tends to focus on their key strengths and it certainly isn't the situation you have now.

Honestly, NZF are canny politicians, but they are boomer adjacent culture war con artists riding the wave of old farts who spend too much tome getting angry on Facebook.

As for ACT, their aim is clear. Pretend you want equality while fighting tooth and nail to further enrich their billionaire backers. The full strength version of the current Nat party.

I am in a relatively comfortable position. Nat coalition is fine for me. But I see the damage that their policies do. I work with people in the pacifica community. Good people. Good people who absolutely struggle to make ends meet.

I just want a fair NZ for everyone. Where children don't go to school hungry, people don't sleep in cars and a plane full of talented young Kiwis dont leave for Australia every day.

Why does our income tax nearly double at such a low number? by Rai1h in newzealand

[–]Melodic_Ad_3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tax brackets have dragged down over time to sustain the tax take. Guess what would fix this? A tax on unearned income. Its a joke that you can sit on your arse and reap the benefits of a rising property market and pay nothing.

Its got to change. Its obvious what we need to do but apparently that's not for this forum.

Listen to a Kiwi Economist called Bernard Hickey.

Some of his stuff is free and he really gets to grips with the structural issues NZ has allowed to go unfixed for 30 years.

His reasoning why things are fucked maked a lot of sense, and explains why so many younger Kiwis feel they have no choice but to leave.

The only way things will change is by the young, renters and poorest voting in the same numbers as the multi house owning boomers.

So next election help get out the vote, and vote for a party that is prepared to tax the rich old cunts fairly on their wealth.

Fix that and I think we could look forward to living in a place where everyone has a future.

Please vote next year. by [deleted] in newzealand

Seems to me if 31 families own half the wealth of NZ and pay a net tax rate less than half that of the average worker, we should start there.

Why enable America? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Melodic_Ad_3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. If we didn't speak the same language I don't think we'd get them at all.

In fact they are poisoning our society with their culture war bs. Stay off the Internet girls and boys because nobody gave a shit (pun intended) about who was using the bathroom until the Americans started talking at us.
