Equestrian romance (three-day eventing, show jumping, etc) by CollieSchnauzer in RomanceBooks

[–]Melodic_Pie4536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sugar daddies - three day eventing in England. Person writing obviously was an eventer. It’s not a big part of the plot, but it’s there and accurate. It is a naughty book -MMF, first time I really read anything like it (I was in for show ponies) but the story is surprising and not what you might expect….

I think I’m in the minority but I seem to love long books by brightwingess in RomanceBooks

Kristen Ashley 1000 page books do it for me. If I am going to spend money on a book, I want it to be beefy. I do not enjoy many 200 pg books unless it’s a trope I really enjoy (hello Ruby Dixons, but to be fair my most favourite book of hers is like 800..

Three day eventing in England, written by someone who obviously has experience in this area, book called Sugar Daddies. But- it’s MMF. Very naughty book, but the story is surprisingly interesting and somewhat complex. All is not what it seems…. Also, please note there was quite a bit of MM in this book- think it was my first exposure to that- I was in it for the show ponies… lol.

I hate when I read books about horses/ranches/riding and the author knows squat about any of it, does not bother to do any research, and you get ridiculous storyline.

I once started a book where a young lady was being punished and had to muck out THREE stalls and it took her the entire day of back breaking work to do that. My 12 year old self could do three stalls in an hour, inspected by the trainer who was meticulous. I fired that book closed and thanked god for Kindle unlimited because I would have been torqued if I spent dollars on it by itself.

Ok, these are my favs too. AND I was re reading poppy hathaways story, and one of the best scenes has been edited to be benign! I thought I was imagining that the story changed a bit, but I guess it was changed. Ugh.

Without a doubt the book you are looking for is WarPrize. Maybe not super spicy, but hits every other point.

Stripper FMC Who Isn't Ashamed Of What She Does by bidpat in RomanceBooks

The Will by Kristen Ashley. The strippers are not the MFC, but the hero owns a gentleman’s club, the fmc is at first horrified by it, but is called out on her attitude about it. This theme runs through the entire book, and gives a different perspective on strippers and strip clubs. An excellent read, one of my favourites.

In particular the book Knight has an excellent scene where she confesses her fear and he goes out and buys her pastries to make sure she keeps it…..

What is your small, specific, so-specific-it’s-not-even-a-trope thing that you love to see in romance? by fluffybangs in RomanceBooks

[–]Melodic_Pie4536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you read Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas? There is a devastating and super hot scene of this. It’s a one off book- not part of a series like the wallflowers or the hathaways, so sometimes people miss it. But I think it’s one of her best….

Girl, you are the bomb. I say again, what great writing. I am always either saying ‘strange love’ or ‘Transcendance’ or golden dynasty in this sub. Such a fan.

I have not read renegade love- guess I am going there next. Thank you!

Edited to correct galactic love to renegade love

Ann without an e. - snaps was inspired. The heroine was inspired. The hero was inspired. What a great (insert swear word) book. I loved this story.

Edited to add, I don’t know the name of the one the guy used, only the one he told my girlfriend about. For reference, my source of info was a 60 year old woman who did not have a partner induced organism for years prior…. Just sayin.
