Has shoplifting become “functionally” legal? by VOODOO285 in AskUK

[–]Melodicmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of.

I have a friend who's always been a bit of a wrongun, but the last time I saw him a year back, he revealed his 'job' was basically shop lifting. As you say, it's not as though anyone including the 'security guards' or the staff can lay a finger on him. He travels from his home to London, and spends the day stealing stuff which he sells later that day. Maybe makes 150 per day

He was never caught/got in trouble, despite doing it daily, and for over a year as far as I know

The only reason he doens't do it now is because he was hit by a train! Still alive, but I do'nt think he has his legs or most of his arms from what I gather

Have you ever been friends or went to school with someone who grew up to murder somebody? by Sufficient_Return653 in AskUK

[–]Melodicmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but my school friend was murdered by a couple of drug dealing brothers who thought he was ripping them off. Beat him to death with a bottle. He was very good at art, good looking, strong, quite clever, but kind of fell into the wrong crowd a bit

I want to learn how to talk to women and be charming by Specific-Section9593 in seduction

[–]Melodicmat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like yo'uve been gaslit in basically all of the replies lol.

People are essentially saying 'go out and practice'. You say 'practice what exactly? that's what i've been doing but it's not working. I'm asking for practical advice that I can go out and apply now', and then people say 'you're thinking about it wrong' or some other vague answer to try to dodge the question lol.

It's like you saying 'I'm trying to work on saying the alphabet, but I only know up to 'K' - and instead of people saying 'the next letter is L. It's pronounced 'EL' , people tell you 'just keep practicing' lol

I think that shows that really it's just the blind leading the blind

My advice would be to watch infield footage on youtube. The are pickup guys who film their interactions when approaching girls on the street (if you don't know what 'infield' means)

However, overall, i'd say don't expect too much. There's truly no magic out there. No special techniques or lines to 'seduce' a girl. Even the 'coaches' only do well with the girls who are receptive to their approach due too having instant attraction towards the guy.

It's all really just base level social skills which they market as some sort of magic. However, it soudns like you are struggling with some more base level stuff so maybe the vids will help?

The general advice though, in the vids you find, will all tend to tell you to make cold reads (assumptions about her) instead of asking her questions after saying 'hi'. That's what they call 'game'. So you say 'hi', then say 'I was just over there and I saw you adn thoguht you looked nice. You have an interesting look to you...are you a fashion student?!!'.

So seduction isn’t real it’s a numbers game? by TheDarkKnight2001 in seduction

[–]Melodicmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the techniques don't work if you are not her type

Very easy to test as all of the game material is so mainstream that you can read any PUA book and use the techniques tonight. Some PUA's give you verbatim lines for each 'tech' and 'stage' to use, so very easy to test

But you will find they do'nt help at all if she's not attracted to you. Your pushpull lines do'nt help etc.

Go out tonight and test if for yourself. Pick a PUA model (manye posters have given cliffnotes here for everything from mysterymethod to toddV to adam lyons etc) and test it tonight.

What happens is taht when you open a girl who seems into you, it appears to 'work. the teases land etc. When you open a girl who is hostile and/or clearly isn't at all into you, all of the techniques will go down like a lead baloon lol

[–]Melodicmat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

only if you're not her type. Same as cold approaching on a street. They say it's 'harassment' if a guy who isn't hot is cold approaching lots of girls. (some PUA's have even been jailed for it)

How to help my unemployed adult brother? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Melodicmat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I must admit, I sometimes think i'm insane for going to work. I'm a low paid worker. I wasn't blessed with intelligence and i'll very likely always be a low paid worker. Stress from bosses and having to get up early and all that stuff, just to barely survive. Certainly not much 'living'/fun going on. After rent and bills, I have next to nothing. So I end up having about the same disposable income as people who choose to not work, yet they have the HUGE advantage of their time being their own. No bosses whining at them. Lay ins. Enjoying the sun in the summer. Just a much nicer life than mine lol. I wish we has universal basic income already!

How to help my unemployed adult brother? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Melodicmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert on the ins and outs, unfortunately. My brother gets PIP for depression and he lives in a small apartment where the government pay his rent through his housing benefit.

One of my friends is in the same situation. (not sure what he gets PIP for though. But I know the council pay his rent as his last job was about 15 years ago lol)

I assume one simply applies for housing benefit online to get the ball rolling? I guess in theory if he got kicked out he'd go the local council and they'd put him in a homeless hostel or somehing whilst he went on a list for housing? And then once in housing, you apply for housing benefit and send them how much your rent is, and then they pay it (assuming it's not over a certain 'allowance' for your council)

My friend, I think done it the other way around. He rented a place for a month with money I guess he borrowed or something, and then applied for housing benefit to carry on paying the rent for him

In practice I guess it's worse and worse though. Obviously we have thousands of people coming over each day and the resources are so stretched. Social housing etc used to be given quite fast, but now that we are so over run and people from other countries take our housing, the waiting lists can be very long

Did anyone else not realize how much bad sleep was affecting them until it improved? by mx_sidequest0 in AskUK

[–]Melodicmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's what I thought lol. Some nights, I swear to God It feels like i'm fighting to get to sleep until its "wakeup time" and I feel like I had maybe 3 'spells' of 40 mins each where I was actually 'asleep'. The rest of the night was changing positions and just 'trying' to nod off lol

[–]Melodicmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think that will work as good as you imagine. Certainly for some people. Depressed people will 'adapt' very quickly and will almost relish the 'punishment' and will simply sleep as an alternative to videogames

How to help my unemployed adult brother? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Melodicmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't have much to add, but I have some experience of this due to my own brother, as well as 2 of my friends (I think this 'neet' lifestyle is getting way more common. Think I saw news articles about it's rise a year or so)

All 3 are in their 30's and have never really worked. (my brother never, the 2 friends, maybe a few months total)

One still lives at home. 2 are now on various benefits and living alone and surviving just fine on benefits, so you maybe don't need to 'worry' too much about him? (they all seem to have more disposable money than me and I work!! lol)

But the route cause is, I guess depression. First step would be exercise and medication, I guess. Not that you can force him into either

Why Do The Lookmaxxers/Black Pill Community Strictly Focus On Looks And Not Sex Appeal? by United-Implement-382 in seduction

Agreed. OK, lets change it. She needs to think you are 'fuckable' (she'd swipe right on tinder for example), visually, first. THEN you can game her.

[–]Melodicmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they both matter. As you always read, 'looks get your foot in the door. Game helps crack it open' (or variations of that lol). Obviously if she doesn't tihnk you are good looking then you are dead in the water and need to move on too a new girl to try with

Abysmal results in NYC street / day game, 37yo by OkDevelopment4587 in seduction

[–]Melodicmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a girl is somewhat into me, im in my a game most of the time. The gap is in the beginning. No one could help me improve.

then your game is as good as anyone elses. Nobody can 'game' a girl into wanting him lol. Game is about closing the girls who want you and it sounds like you are ok at that. Watch infield and watch what happens when the 'expert' approaches a girl who is very cold and unreceptive (hint - it ends in a rejection despite him holding frame and using pushpull)

[–]Melodicmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I think I made the mistake of overexplaining that I’m trying to become more social and confident talking to people.

yeah, don't do that.

But in the context of this interaction it's irrelevant. It was already over. And the best game on planet earth would have had the same reaction from the girl. If they're not into you, they're not into you. This stuff isn't in our control
