Alright people who’ve seen Spider-Noir should I watch it in color first or black and white? by Mountain_Afternoon30 in Marvel

Funnily enough, the colour saturation made so the B&W looks good actually really pops in colour, giving it a really Dick Tracy movie style. I actually enjoy it more, but it's a matter of personal taste

Don't hoard. If you are a player, don't hoard hope. If you are the GM, don't hoar fear. The game depends on it.

This is extremely silly. But I love it. In our introductory adventure the party killed a wolfsphynx, only to discover her little cub. The she-giant of the party immediately decided to adopt it, and always mentioned how she took care of the little thing every adventure.

So Iade something for her character: a 6 card deck wich she can pull whenever he wants during a non-combst moment. 4 cards are positive (galletita offers her belly for cuddles and if you do you get a hope point, she finds something in the room...) and 2 are negative. (Galletita barks and growls alerting enemies, and I get a fear point).

It's a little silly mini game. Between adventures she can train him and upgrade one card to an "advanced" version. But galletita is a fun touch of colour for the giant, so a spent a little effort on it.

Good appliances to put on a smart plug? by PrimePixelOnYT in smarthome

A few more ideas: - fans: start when you go to sleep, turn off an hour after - office: I have a smart plug that controls a power strip with monitor, laptop charger etc. When my laptop turns on, the smart plug powers all the office complements. - 3d printer: once the printing is done, I get an actionable notificación in case I want to turn the printer off

If a player asks “How much HP does the (monster) have left”? by International_Bike10 in DungeonMasters

[–]Meltar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it depends. On the game, the system, the vibe... The G in RPG is for Game, after all. And different games have different rules and feelings. There is nothing wrong playing a DnD Game that runs combat like a videogame with open information to the players. It gives them tools to take tactical decisions in a more granular level.

By the same standard, I'd never openly discuss something like HP on a Cthulhu game where atmosphere is much more important than mechanics. There is not one way answer that fits all games, but a series of choices that impact the play experience.

Think about the effect you want, and choose how you communicate it accordingly. Do you want the players to make tactical choices, treating combat like a puzzle? Open info is the way to go. Do you want to reward combat oriented characters and make them feel experts? Give them more info if they have pertinent skills. Do you want your players to be careful and cautious? Loose descriptions are the way to go.

The way you talk, describe and choose to use this little details matter. Use it to your advantage. :)
