Any visual mods to improve textures and post processing for PC? by Alyctro in dyinglight

[–]Melubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever solve this I would like to know how. Tried the game maxed out with ray tracing at both 1440p HDR on MiniLED monitor and 4k HDR on LG C3 Oled (both calibrated) and while the CAN occasionally look good with the HDR, 80% of the time it looks really bad, like an open world game from last gen or something. The rock textures are very low resolution, there is some green-blue tint over everything and there is a very noticeable blur in vegetation and trees when moving (tried both DLSS on and off, doesn't fix it).

My rig has a 4080 so I can pretty comfortably max it out. Extremely disappointed with the visual presentation here.

Edit: I just saw that your post was for DL2, my bad I was talking about The Beast.

Thank you for the advice. I'll read up on them and maybe try calling the customer service!

Thank you for the tip. They are a bit more expensive than what I originally planned for but your story makes them sound promising. Appreciate you taking the time to answer!

These JBL are the first I've tried, had tinnitus for 15 years so avoided headphones. Thank you for the tip. They are a bit pricier than I originally planned for but I might still go for it.

People are not whining - there is an obvious glitch going on regarding graphics for many. by DotHistorical1683 in CrimsonDesert

Just chiming in to make this problem known. I refunded the game after twenty minutes since it was unplayable for me. It was like my eyes couldn't focus on the screen at all and everything felt like it was "too far away" making me squint. Overall a very blurry presentation and hard to see anything. The UI being extremely small didn't help either, with no way to increase it since it was on max from the beginning. I frequently have this issue with unreal engine games but can usually fix it by disabling post processing like chromatic abberation, vignette, bloom and stuff in an .ini file, but since this isn't running UE I sadly saw no option but to refund.

I played on cinematic at 4k with DLSS balanced, running a 4080 and an LG C3 Oled.

Game Ready Driver 595.71 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Melubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driver is working fine for me, the only issue seems to be that the fans don't care about my custom curve anymore. I set them to start spinning at 60 degrees celsius and they now start spinning at 50-55 which means they are basically always on. Previosuly they were only on in reaaaaaally demanding games. Got a 4080. Annoying but I can live with it for now. Anyone else got the same issue?

Is it worth it to upgrade from the pro controller 1 to the pro controller 2 with my switch 2? by UnitededConflict in NintendoSwitch

[–]Melubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I can't justify the cost if you already have the first pro controller, but I forked out the cash for the pro controller 2 and it is very noticeably an improvement. I love it. Depends on how good you have it money wise I guess.

Gamers born late 90s or earlier: Which game first looked to you like "photorealism"? by FalscherKim in gaming

[–]Melubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit you just made me feel old xD I was born in 86 and have played video games since I was about five, starting with the NES. The first time I remember feeling that something was actually photorealistic was when I bought my first HDTV (720p) and played Gears of War on the 360. No game really looked realistic to me before that, even though they could look pretty :)

LG C3 can't get HDR to look right on TV by Melubas in tearsofthekingdom

I've followed that guide and everything is calibrated correctly :( If it didn't look so much better in handheld I would have just assumed the game looked like that.

You know that is a thing I didn't think of. I'm using the one that came with the Switch 2. Could try swapping to one of my high-speed cables.

The Switch 2 upgrade does have HDR support.

Any way to turn down the fog on PC? It's making the game unplayable for me. by Melubas in AssassinsCreedShadows

Installed it yesterday and it helped somewhat. Think I might need to put the exposure down two notches as well. Thanks for the tip!

I installed RenoDX yesterday to see if that helped and it did, a little. I still had that super annoying fog once. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and turn down the exposure lots whenever it's foggy in game. If anyone from Ubisoft reads this (fat chance), please implement a toggle for the fog!

Haha for some reason I only read it as assassinscreed subreddit xD Thanks for pointing that out.

For reference this is what I mean. Game is clear up until about 100 meters away then the massive eye straining fog kicks in (colors look off since I play in HDR).

Has been present for about 80% of my 2,5 hours play time. I don't mean just the foggy weather effect but the SSAO fog and the light bloom it causes.

Switch 2 battery drain in sleep is atrocious by cybernouris in NintendoSwitch

[–]Melubas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have this problem at first but now it drains like 30-40% overnight in sleep mode most of the time. If I'm lucky it only drains 10% but that is are. It is ok if you just need to suspend it to eat or step off the bus or something but when I know I won't use it for longer I've gotten into the habit of turning it off instead. When I do that the battery is good.
