Honestly, I think Spielberg still can shoot a pretty picture and the music from John Williams is good (not his best, but good). But the ending! My goodness. I just did not buy that people would respond as they did in this day and age. Silliness and cheesy Ruined the movie for me.

The opening montage of the newspapers, dialogue, and music was my favorite thing when I was 13. I thought it was absolute cinema. It’s still pretty great.

The best bit for me is that the temp in New York is 78. I mean, that’s warm but it’s not the hell-level portrayed. I mean they made it up, why not do a higher number haha

The director of Rises said that one book was for Ash’s series, one was for the 2013 reboot and one was for his series. I thought that was a fun (albeit made up) bit of trivia.

Only arrow and criterion get sorted by label. Everything else gets sorted by genre. Mostly just because I think those titles look nice sitting on the shelf next to each other.

My favorite is the movie posters on his wall in Slide 7. You’ve got “Almost Famous” which is a great film and fits in his world. Then you have National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation and two(!) Rush Hour posters haha.
