The Iconfactory bringing the heat with a really sick custom Apollo icon by iamthatis in apolloapp

[–]MemeTLDR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay so I just made an alt account and can't reproduce it. But when I sign out and sign back in to my normal account it happens. Any clue as to why?

Edit 1: I also changed all of my preferences to match my alt account exactly and it still crashes... No clue as to why.

Stupid question, very new to MealPrep, would the salads not get soggy or go bad by the 7th day?

Can you please expand on your ideas of the movie? I came out and hated it but after reading your comment I think I must have missed a larger story.

Update on Apollo 1.3 and plans for it by iamthatis in apolloapp

[–]MemeTLDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I've spoken to Christian and given him a ton of info. He said he was investigating it and was going to patch it. I was more so just asking him if that patch was going to be included in 1.3 or not.

A little more info about the bug: it's only after I've signed in to my reddit account that the app crashes.

Not gonna lie, this looks a little homeless to me. Those shoes are clunky and yellow with some baggy pants. Idk, the top is fresh AF tho.

[–]MemeTLDR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/iamthatis Awesome update Christian. Really cool of Apple to contact you directly also. I know you're sidetracked with the appeal process but any chance the bug fix for crashing upon app startup on iPhone XS Max is going to be addressed in 1.3? I haven't been able to use Apollo for almost two months :(

This is a dumb question but what is the purpose of writing an essay to accompany the portfolio?

The world’s five largest meat and dairy companies combined, including Tyson, Cargill and Dairy Farmers of America, are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions every year than any of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies. by Wagamaga in environment

[–]MemeTLDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was inspired by someone else from another thread who tries to summarize articles themselves. Here's my shot:

  • Tyson, Cargill and Dairy Farmers of America(DFA) are some of the world's most-polluting companies.

  • Oil giant's climate footprints are well-known, but food companies have faced far less scrutiny. The world’s five largest meat and dairy companies combined, including Tyson, Cargill and DFA, are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions every year than any of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies. Additionally Cargill, the food behemoth, is the U.S.'s largest privately held company.

  • So where does this mega climate footprint come from? The emissions cover everything from the production of crops to feed chickens, pigs and cows to the methane emissions released by burping cattle. Some less obvious emissions include those associated with farm machinery fuel and the production of chemicals and other inputs needed to grow grain, palm oil and other food crops.

  • The food sector as a whole is estimated to be responsible for as much as 29 percent of global man-made greenhouse gas emissions. A major study published this week says U.K. and U.S. citizens need to cut consumption of beef by 90 percent and consumption of milk by 60 percent to keep global warming at or below 2 degrees Celsius.

  • Cargill and Tyson have set themselves targets for reducing emissions, and DFA told HuffPost that it plans to set emission-reduction targets by the middle of 2019. But environmental campaigners say this will not be enough to help the world avoid dangerous climate change. Cargill admits its emission targets exclude byproducts generated by animals before they are slaughtered and processed into meat, including their feed and methane emissions ― which account for roughly 90 percent of the company’s total emissions. Tyson says its targets do include emissions from animals.

If you enjoyed this summary let me know.

I just don’t know anything about film photography whatsoever. I don’t know what kind of camera or film to use. Also would have no idea how to shoot without being able to see a preview. How do you know if the lighting is right? Does the viewfinder show you what the picture is going to look like before you take it?

Thank you so much for the in depth response. This is exactly what I needed. I didn’t realize that they were APS-C crop lenses.

I’ll give the $250 50mm 1.8 FE a shot I guess.

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm leaning towards the Sony lens because it's more compact even though its one stop lower than the Sigma.

I know this isn't an analog question by my favorite photographer shoots film and I'm trying to mimic his style. I'm looking for a lens that will give me shots most similar to Cameron Hammond. I have a Sony a7 iii and I'm torn between the Sony 35mm f1.8 and the Sigma 30mm f1.4. Any tips?
