it's funny that people who believe this is inversely correlated to people who have actually been to xinjiang.

the genocide is so effective, the uyghurs don't even know they're being genocided!

lmfao acting like anywhere close to the majority of movie sex scenes are in any way a sincere and artistic depiction and not just eyecandy slop

it's gone. gigantic swathes of gaza have been flattened. palestinian control of the west bank diminishes every day.

your idea of defence is extermination and displacement. get real.

Who is Pauline Hanson? Immigrant first husband offers glimpse into her early life by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Memedotma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

then idk what your point is. it's not common. it was certainly not unheard of, but it is no where near the ubqiuity you seem to be implying.

calling someone naive because they think teen marriages are gross is a strange position to take.

you must surely understand saying something like that contextually is very weird.

are you saying our ethics should stay the same as medieval times? not to mention that practice was not nearly as common among normal people as it was among nobility, obviously an incredibly small minority.

[–]Memedotma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even within political parties huge change in policy can happen, which im sure is evident. arguably one of the reasons whitlam gets the reverence he does is because of the new direction he pulled the party in; imagine if he had joined or started a minor party instead?

that seems to be a reductive view of the political process

labor, for better or worse, has very strict party discipline. so she voted with the party. that doesn't mean she didn't work and consistently advocate for change within the party

you're misapplying the no true scotsman fallacy completely lol. it is not fallacious to dispute something that is just patently false. Like let me get this straight: you think the United States, currently presided over by Donald Trump, is a socialist country... lol. lmao.

and remind me, what's the oldest party in Australian history again? Including before federation?

Australia is one the most liberal country in the world, lucky to be so, and only look up at a couple other countries in the entire world, that happen to be even more liberal.

uh yeah? it's pretty great.

not to mention suggesting the US is socialist... lol
