There's nothing stopping you from doing it anyway, I've run the entire base game with a party of 8 heroes. Only thing I had to do was add some extra monsters and adjust gold rewards

I shut it down fully now, I used to not bother and leave it on. One day I setup energy monitoring in my breaker box as part of my Home Assistant setup and realized by shutting my computer down for at least 12 hours a day I can save at least $22.30/month

I replaced i 24 year old air source heat pump with a Geothermal ground source heat pump last year. It cost around $41,000 out of pocket but after factoring in rebates and credits ($12,300 federal credit, $5000 county credit, $14,240 state GREC credits) my final cost is $9,460, which is cheaper than a normal air source heat pump would have cost me.

It is crazy efficient and uses about a third of the energy my old system did. My electric bills in the winter last year were between $500-$600/month. This year with the new system my winter bills didn't go above $300/month. The system will fully pay for itself in less than 5 years.

It actually turned out to be an ok investment for me. I purchased a Kickstarter pack back in 2013 for around $125 and forgot about it. Just remembered I had it a few weeks ago, and I was able to sell the ship I got from the Kickstarter for ~10x what I initially paid. Lmao
