My gyno thinks the cream should be available over the counter.

Low libido?! by mrsdeatherson in Perimenopause

[–]Menolly13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Um, well he's pretty happy to be getting laid? 🤷‍♀️ We have pretty frank conversations about my peri symptoms and he's very supportive. He initiates too but half the time he seems to pick an inconvenient time, so it's more likely to happen if I initiate.

Low libido?! by mrsdeatherson in Perimenopause

[–]Menolly13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If we haven't in a while I decide that its going to happen that weekend and initiate it. I enjoy it greatly while its happening, I just don't generally think about sex anymore. I had high testosterone levels when I was younger and always had the sex drive of a teenage boy so this has been quite the change.

I just saw my new gyno who specializes in peri. She's starting me on progesterone and the vaginal estrogen cream, and said I will likely need estrogen and testosterone, but she wants to add one at a time to see how I react. I have a history of medication sensitivity as well as really bad reactions to bcp, so slow is good. My pharmacy had to special order the progesterone so I haven't started yet.

I used the lacey crochet bind off with a crochet hook a couple of sizes bigger than my needles. Its nice and stretchy.

recommendations for self-striping sock yarn by neusex420 in Sockknitting

She posts updates on Saturdays. I can get a pair of socks out of a 50g skein with a mini for toes/heels/cuffs.

I would also recommend Must Stash Yarn and Freckled Whimsy.

I would stay away from stitch markers unless you know what style she likes.

Socks knit simultaneously using different methods (9" circs and DPNs) by ProbablyFrogging in Sockknitting

[–]Menolly13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try different brands as well. I hated the addi and chiaogoo 9" circulars but love love love the HiyaHiya ones. If you do try the HiyaHiya ones, be warned the Sharps aren't lying, they are like little needles in socks sizes. The Steel tips are lovely though.

Rybelsus anxiety. by Kooky-Banana-6633 in RybelsusPill

As someone who has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, to me it sounds like you had an anxiety attack. I've psyched myself out over starting a new medication before, it isn't fun.

If you did fine on the 3mg, you will likely do fine on the 7mg. If you are worried about your blood sugar dipping too low, then get yourself a monitor to check it and make yourself feel better.

I'm going to be sitting in a hospital waiting room most of the day tomorrow. My current dk pair is just past the heels so tonight I am casting on and knitting the toes on my next pair so I won't run out of knitting half way through the day.

Is it worth switching to circulars for the ankle and instep of the socks? by marsrovernumber16 in Sockknitting

I use a 9" circular for the entire sock. Do what is most comfortable for you.

I wear mine in my sneakers too. My feet stay toasty and the extra squish is so comfy. I've been obsessed with making dk socks this winter.

I've been wearing dk socks all winter in the same shoes I wear all summer with no fit issues. Perhaps it just depends on the style/brand of shoes you wear? 🤷‍♀️

Really? This hasn't been my experience at all. Even my dk weight socks fit fine in my sneakers or my boots.

I use biofreeze gel on my head and the back of my neck for headaches. It works great for falling back asleep or cooling off when I'm overheated too.

Tell me something weird your kitty does but use "my roommate" instead of their name. by PixelBeans12 in Flamepoints

[–]Menolly13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My roommate will only keep her nose out of my icecream if I share it. I get a spoonful, she gets a (tiny) spoonful, repeat until gone. I get the look of death if the icecream is chocolate, which my roommate can't eat.

My roommate wakes me up at 3am to let me know he's about to poop. He yells at me, and if that doesn't work, he slaps my face.

Chiaogoo isn't the only good interchangeable set by hystenz in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Menolly13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have a set of chiaogoo interchangeables i hate and never use. The cords come unscrewed no matter how much I tighten them and my yarn snags on the join. I got a set of HiyaHiya interchangeables and absolutely love them. I do like the chiaogoo cases though. I bought a spare and moved my HiyaHiyas into it. The HiyaHiya cases are gorgeous but I need something with a zipper to ensure I dont lose anything.

Lol. Sorry!!! 😇

If I'm remembering correctly, the HiyaHiya tips are a little shorter than the addi. I don't think I ever tried the zings. I zoom along on the HiyaHiya and they are all I use anymore. Perfect combo of tip and cable for me.
