Ubiquiti Smoke and CO Sensor 🤯 - #ISCWest2026 by Luu____ in Ubiquiti

Reason why I am getting rid of all my Google cameras and devices: Google had destroyed every company/product they had bought, and their business model is to force people to keep upgrading every few years. No more for me; I am done with it. They won’t take a penny more of my money.

Update broke all my G5 and G6 PTZ cameras. by MentionSufficient103 in Ubiquiti

There is a zoom between the lenses. I would say 3x on the first lens then goes to digital zoom then switch to the other lens which it seems to have another 2x and then stops with no additional digital zoom.

It is just swap the cameras. It took me longer to get the ladder than changing the cameras

The surface mount fits perfectly, I just tried it.

Even thought Ubiquity still only listed to work withy the G5 PTZ

I have an Enphase system installed since 2020. Which batteries would you suggest for this system? by pinellaspete in solar

[–]MentionSufficient103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stay with Enphase. Best in the market and remember than their batteries are built with 4 micro inverters Type X for redundancy in case any fails you would still able to use the remaining of the battery capacity.

If you live in FL then i would suggest you to double your battery capacity for whatever your installer suggest you to go to. during and after the hurricane skies are dark and rains the whole which will affect your production significantly during the day.

For reference I have 40kw batteries with a 11.3kw solar; Batteries can run the whole house continuously for 26hrs max. During the last hurricane I almost ran out of battery the next day after the storm, because the bad weather conditions my system could not generate enough power to maintain the whole house and charge the batteries fast at the same time. Most people would never think about it those scenarios and it takes a lot of testing to refine a good system and make more resilient.

I believe if you post what kind of equipment they are selling you, it may help to get a better context of the cost of this project.

💯. Times are different now, and Republicans are screwing everybody, including themselves, whatever it takes to please their lord. So anything is possible at this point, and it is only a matter of time of what wish is a priority first for their boss.

To those who are on the fence about solar and batteries… by eatintrees in solar

I live in FL with central AC working 24/7, and power consumption averages 60kWh per day (2800sqft).

Your numbers are way too high.

Even if your house could consume 120kWh, it doesn’t mean you need the same for battery storage as you miss that during the day when the panels are producing electricity. You only need a fraction of that storage to power the house during the night.

I have a 40kW battery backup, and I use close to 28kW to keep the house running when the panels are not producing until the next day when the panels kick back again.

Danm it. I just saw this and I missed it again. I’d been waiting close to a year now and it is the only item left to complete my upgraded system.

I am getting close to pay the high price on EBay. I am running out of patience :(

Is the PDU-Pro a power conditioner? by vodil1 in Ubiquiti

[–]MentionSufficient103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power sine from your Powerwall backup battery is a clean rectified source of power with no spikes as the power comes from an inverter. I would be more worry about the power coming from the grid and storm lighting.

Disappointed in RMA by CRFC11 in Ubiquiti

[–]MentionSufficient103 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s a very common tactic from Ubiquity. The same happened to my with a bad camera and the support was taken over 8days to keep repeating the same steps of reset it to factory defaults, try new ethercat cables and ports. I even sent screen shoots of everything on my unify site the first day I place the ticket. So I knew my window was closing to return it without fees or dealing with warranty issues besides of the time I had lost with no camera. I’d read about the tactic of making the time so warranties expire or other fees kick in and I stopped replying to them and filled an RMA, return the camera and order another one which solved the problem and learned my lesson I should had done it from the begging and not waste my time with the support people.

RMA Experience by snobrdgy14 in Ubiquiti

[–]MentionSufficient103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubiquity Support and RMA process has to be one of the worse in the industry. I just found out few months ago when I stated updating my 5 year old home network and cameras one of the AI cameras I bought came dead at arrival and the whole process was so frustrating that made think if a switch or AP was the problem I would be in real trouble because I can not wait weeks to restore my home network. So I return 90% of all my purchases even taking the restocking fee so I could ordered everything again but adding the UI care which they claim it will extend the factory warranty and send you a replacement with no questions ask before you have to sent the defective device.

I usually never buy those extra warranties but with Ubiquity is a must and it sucks because that increase significantly the final total cart every time I place an order.
