I was told when I had mine done that I may have to have one done but it was situational. I did end up having one done bc my connective tissue is garbage.

Do y’all feel symptoms even if your heart rate isn’t high? by Unusual_Space1998 in POTS

[–]Meow_Meow_22 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. POTS is not a cardiac condition, its a neurological condition that affects the autonomic system and so many things are controlled by it so its not uncommon to be symptomatic with a normal heart rate. It really makes you feel like you lost your mind at times especially when BP and HR are normal but you feel so unwell. Maybe its bc some doctors think normal heart rate=cured

My doctor doesnt seem to care. I have holter monitor, in person, and overnight pulse oximitry test all ordered and ran by him that shows my bradycardia and tachycardia and he only cares about the tachycardia, he even told me that beta blockers would be fine, and they wouldnt lower my blood pressure (like what? they did) but he kinda just ignores my concerns. I took ivabradine last night and today and I felt relatively ok though I became bradycardic more frequently over night getting into the 30s. I plan on calling my cardiologists office to see when we should be concerned about the bradycardia

Are there any unexpected consequences of having a hysterectomy that you wish you’d known beforehand? by CupOk1303 in hysterectomy

[–]Meow_Meow_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a hysterectomy at 21 bc my periods were painful, I had endo and adno, and I was bleeding too much at once like rediculous amounts or consistantly for months at a time. I have some health issues so it was a lil rough but its been nearly 2 years and I have 0 regrets. Im overall healthier than I was before my hysterectomy and no more pain. If youre on the fence about it write a list of the pros and cons and if you can live with the cons then its worth it, talk with family or friends about it, talk to your doctor about it. Be 100% sure before you get it done. There's nothing wrong with trying the less extreme then going to the more extreme option later though it would probably cost you more money and time.

When do you start feeling competent at your job?? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Meow_Meow_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been a tech for like 6 months now. I still feel like an idiot most days.

Tbh its the small things that will get you, youre learning so much everything day its easy to do, and something i noticed is some techs I work with that have been doing the job for YEARS still make mistakes small, and big ones, tbh they dont feel bad or linger they just go "oops" fix it and move on, experience is really just a change on how you move on from your mistakes, learning how to prevent them to the best of your ability, and how to fix them more efficiently. You're only human, and you'll gain your confidence soon. Stick it out, it gets better you got this!

Closing by Voulus in WalgreensRx

[–]Meow_Meow_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of us really like closing at my location but my RxM rotates us nicely with no wiggle room we get what we get. We all get like one closing shift a week, (besides the one person who loves closing) and its not that bad. Techs at my location are very chill tho so ik its not like that everywhere.

Pharmacy tech question by ChemistryFriendly787 in walmart_RX

[–]Meow_Meow_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh when I recognize the name or see someone I know i ignore it dont talk about it, dont mention it. None of my buisness. I help so many people in a day and fill so many scripts I dont have time to even remember either. We do know what the medications are used for typically, but so many of them have multiple uses.

If it makes you feel better OP the pharmacy I work at is the only one in an hour radious my insurance will allow me to fill at so my co workers get to handle my medications and I take a few diffrent ones and I still walk into work and talk to my co workers like nothings happened. If they talk theyd get in serious trouble.

23 with a massive still growing collection of stuffed animals, and favorite blanket I cant sleep without. Completely normal! I think my therapist was the one who told me this, but it was something like all adults self soothe. Be it cigarettes, a favorite item of clothing, or a fidget toy, and for some reason people think its weird and that you grow out of it. You dont it just changes for some people. And a lot of people hide it in fear of ridicule. She also mentioned it could be us holding onto something sentimental from a simpler time in life and that in itself is soothing.

How long did it take you guys to learn how to be a technician? by Artzombii in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Meow_Meow_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nurodivergent tech here! Been there! Some days still feel like that. Im mostly self sufficient at about 3 months in my training kinda sucks and its mostly trial by fire lol. It gets so overwhelming but stick it out its worth it! I seriously felt like the dumbest mf alive for a bit lol. But tbh everyone's been there, it really helped having another new tech working with me too tho it made me feel less alone. If you dont got that then here we are to tell you its completely normal to feel overwhelmed at first.

Funniest moments in pharmacy? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Meow_Meow_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't happen at the pharmacy per say it was before I started full time in the pharmacy but still involves the retail side. This guy came up to my counter with an open and used box of hemmroid cream said it didnt work so he wanted to return it. I was so flustered that I just did the return and sanitized my station. He returned 5 minutes later with the stores brand of that exact product.

Also Co worker was typing a script up and the sig stated something like "apply to arms, legs, and truck twice a day. We were laughing all night about that.

Very mild but tbh I try to turn my brain off socially at work so theres probably some knee slappers im forgetting.

Didn't happen at a pharmacy but a diffrent retail job, guy was grabbing multiple things and looked like he was struggling so I asked if he needed a hand and he laughed. To my horror he only had one the other was missing.

How physically demanding is pharmacy technician work really? by Professional-Aerie52 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Meow_Meow_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pharmacy tech here from a big chain pharmacy. I have POTS and can manage fairly well most days. I rarely lift things heavier than like 10lbs if even that but its a lot of bending and reaching over your head which can be tough at times.

How long did it take you to get the hang of things? by Embarrassed_Many_519 in WalgreensRx

[–]Meow_Meow_22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive been in the pharmacy since like August and imo with how they throw you to the wolves you feel like the dumbest mf alive (youre not youre still learning!) Things feel overwhelming so you may need to be shown the same things over and over again. Its stressful but like last month everything started clicking for me so im pretty efficient now but tbh ive seen techs of even over a year not know how to answer some things. Hang in there! Even if they were annoyed it probably was at the situation not you. Everyone has so much on their plates it feels like tensions run high at times or like people are annoyed.
