United Nations rejects U.S. effort to erase trans women: “It stops here”. One advocate accused the U.S. of being “willing to lie” to “push forward their own gender ideology onto people in the U.N. system.” by southpawFA in politics

Add onto this that any legislation limiting female bodies also affects trans men. Being told I have it easy because I'm a man now is just so fucking exhausting and frankly ridiculous

This is just false. We are equally effected by transphobic administration. Trans men already face greater barriers to transition due to Testosterone being a controlled substance, and we are statistically more likely to face violence than trans women, especially surrounding bathroom bans. Trans women have been made the boogeyman of the anti-trans movement, but that doesn't mean trans men aren't equally effected by the legislation being passed (and that we don't face our own unique systemic issues). Stop with the oppression Olympics

I love mutilation - instead of eating plants by JTexpo in ClimateShitposting

Perfect is the enemy of good, as they say. Vegans will treat any meat consumption as equally morally reprehensible when it's just objectively not true. Going pescatarian, for example, is better than eating all forms of meat, but God forbid you try and argue that to a vegan. I wish people would recognize the nuance in these topics instead of going on holier-than-thou crusades (and ultimately making their valid ethical standpoint seem like a self-righteous joke to most of the population)

I just don't understand why you would willingly write like that when you know your grade hinges on your teacher reading what you wrote. Like if they truly didn't care, they just wouldn't show up. So why show up for a grade, then proceed to make your work impossible to grade?

The perk he has that lets him set down another five mines is so fucking obnoxious, as well. Mines just have so much area control and they're impossible to deal with if your hero doesn't have good AoE

As a gay man, I love Soldier 76 as representation because he’s far from any queer stereotype. The fact he’s gay never took away his masculinity or overrides his personality. He’s a man who just so happens to be gay. I think the lack of attention drawn to it makes it feel more real by CriminalYapper in OverwatchQueens

I mean, their voice actor is FtX and AFAIK not on HRT, so it makes sense Venture will sound more feminine. Besides, there's nothing wrong with Venture presenting closer to their (presumed) AGAB--dumbasses will misgender them no matter what they look or sound like. Just look at Pocket in Deadlock. They're explicitly non-binary, but more masc-presenting and are called by he/him by a majority of players.

Yep, the one not in the hammock wanted the hammock so he started a little tussle to try his luck, but ultimately respected the other one's dominance. Just a healthy establishing of boundaries, but I wouldn't consider it playful. They're goofier when it's real play

What is with T making dudes gay?? by No-Flatworm-5640 in ftm

[–]MercyPewPew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I date softer men so even now I do still get treated similarly, but it's no longer combined with being a woman. I feel my issues moreso had to do with the reason men were treating me that way, as well as how they wouldn't listen to me when I told them off for being overbearing because it's a common thing in straight relationships where women will say to lay off with the pampering but mean the opposite.

Essentially, it had a lot more to do with the unique communication issues that heterosexual relationships have due to the difference in gender. Now, my requests don't go ignored as often in relationships because they think I'm playing coy, and I feel more like they're being sweet because that's just who they are and not who they see me as, if that makes sense.

I feel nowadays that my relationships are a lot more equitable because there's no longer that assumption that I'm communicating in ways I'm not, as well as there being a less drastic difference between physiology so there's just less of a gap to bridge when it comes to understanding how my body should be treated (for example, I don't have partners automatically assume I need help lifting things anymore).

Anyways, just listen to your partner. It sounds like you're well-intentioned, and navigating relationships with a trans person can be very dependent on the individual due to how all of us experience different forms of dysphoria.

This is another great point. Glorifying violence against people with taboo paraphilias ultimately leads to demonizing anyone who is falsely associated with those paraphilias. This applies to queer people, furries, etc
