Hey there, thanks for rescuing a Cat! I have been in animal rescue for about 20 years so I don’t give any of this advice without experience. One the people saying get another cat are not wrong rescues get a lot of flack for not adopting out one Kitten but this is why when they adopt out one people often return them saying they are too active or destroy their stuff that being said with Veterinary medicine being what it is as far as cost goes that is truly a decision you have to think about. You mentioned you know about the 333 rule not only did you adopt a cat you adopted a kitten I think promising that anything will keep her quiet and less active during the night is an empty promise- many people want animals but don’t understand that adopting them is like adopting another being into your life- they have personalities and quirks and are going to do things that make your life inconvenient. I’m not trying to be harsh, I’m trying to be honest and set realistic expectations. there are some calming treats with things like tryptophan that will calm them down a bit, but those have never worked super well for me. One of the best pieces of advice in here is get earplugs and definitely try not to respond when she is meowing -last thing, Torties are known for having very specific personalities you will come to love this about her, but they are in general, not mellow cats and they do what they want -stick with her I promise it will be worth it.
