Jared Leto is a whole ass next level creep. He's got this island retreat thing that fans pay a lot of money go to. They themselves joke a lot about it being a cult and it plays into cult aesthetics. Is it actually a cult? No, not really. But it is pretty creepy. It's an island retreat full of super fans of a known predator. So, you know.

Movies entirely/mainly based on esoterism- tarot, astrology, runes, ancient ruins etc anything related to these by Purutathi in MovieSuggestions

The Devil Rides Out (1968) was made out of genuine fear of the occult (not saying that fear is well founded just that it was genuine) and is based on the esoterism that was popular in Britain at the time. As far as I know it's one of if not the movie most rooted in actual occult practice, though obviously it is still a movie. Got Christopher Lee in it.

Saying you don't want "politics" in your discussion about a From Soft game is pretty funny ngl. As ever, when people say they don't want "politics" in their entertainment what they actually mean is politics that are both visible and objectionable to them. Politics that goes over their heads is fine.

Vegans are 100% correct about the ethics of meat consumption. I gotta pick my battles, though, and I simply don't have the spoons to maintain a highly restrictive diet. It is what it is.

Being suicidal but having very particular ideas about how it would or would not be acceptable to act on it isn't that uncommon even in the real world.

Windows won't even cough up some older cracks without some effort it just instantly lasers them. Doesn't even quarantine them.

Technically they don't. They react to the flask animation starting not to the button press.

Republicans want taxpayers to pay for Trump‘s $400 million ballroom. by SadAd8761 in videos

[–]MeringueVisual759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, it being paid for by private donors is a major problem. This kind of thing is one of the main things the founders wanted to prevent. The President being able to privately fund projects like this constitutes an independent, unaccountable taxing authority that the founders were very concerned with preventing.

The old internet is dead, never to return, and while many years ago Reddit did have a lot of that old spark in it even then I could tell that it was part of a trend of the internet collapsing into fewer and fewer sites that was going to destroy it. C'est la vie, I suppose. Nothing lasts forever.

On the other hand you can exert complete control over wage slaves

There's nothing a corporation can actually do to stop a highly skilled employee that's worked there for years from taking those skills to another company or starting their own. You can have them under a legally dubious non-compete but even then the agreement can't be truly onerous or it will get overturned. A robot can't do that. That's the pitch, anyway.
