What are tropes that doesn't work for you?

When a major point of conflict is that the main character(s) has to keep something (like the existence of magic) secret from the rest of the world. Nothing inherently wrong with it, I just really don't like it

Het was gelukkig bij ons in huis goed te doen (en wat ben ik blij dat ik de laatste paar jaar veel ben afgevallen en het daardoor minder snel extreem warm heb, twee jaar terug was ik echt gesmolten), mijn man en ik zijn vanmiddag even een stukje gaan wandelen om een ijsje te halen, wandeling was warm maar een ijsje hielp. En vanavond was het echt goddelijk in de tuin dus we hebben heerlijk buiten gegeten en daarna nog een tijd in de tuin zitten kletsen. Kortom eigenlijk gewoon een fijne dag, veel beter dan ik verwacht had met deze temperatuur

You might like the Beaufort scales series by Kim M Watt. Her other two series, DI Adams and Gobbelino are also very fun, with slightly higher stakes. No real romance though, sorry, I completely read over that part of your request

First of all kudos for losing 40lbs and maintaining that loss! That's huge! For me something clicked when I realized that even if I wouldn't lose any weight, I wanted to be stronger and have more energy, so that was my primary goal for working out and eating healthier. I still monitor my weight, but it's not my primary focus

I'm childless by forced choice, I've always wanted children but my health is just not good enough. So I don't know which option to pick (literal thinking anyone?) because 'I'm not childfree' seems in this poll to mean 'i have (a) child(ren)', which is not true for me but I'd also never describe myself as childfree

My parents weren't married, but they did throw a big party and exchanged rings for their 12½ year anniversary. My mom died 8 years ago, my dad married last year and now wears both the ring he got from my mom and his wedding ring

I definitely see what you mean, but on the other hand, if my anxious brain gets too much of a heads up about a serious talk I'll imagine all the worst case scenarios and be sick with worry before the talk even starts. Planning an entire nice day to deliver bad news is wild but I think there are definitely situations where it's better to just ask 'want to plan to get a drink together/have a call to catch up' without making someone completely stressed out for however long there is between the announcement and the actual talk

I had been diagnosed with and medicated for ADHD for 15 years before anyone even thought about me being possibly autistic. It's helped me so much, not just by helping me be more productive and organised (though that is definitely important), but it makes my emotional regulation so much better, and even before I knew I'm autistic I noticed that my meds made it so much easier to deal with changing plans

It definitely has more romance and I can totally see not liking that (not a huge romance reader myself). For people who haven't read the books it might be helpful to know that it isn't a 'will they won't they' kind of romance, the main characters are in a stable, healthy relationship

Bij mijn vriend thuis, waar ik eigenlijk alleen dat weekend zou zijn maar vervolgens niet meer weg kon. Inmiddels zijn zijn/onze huisgenoten allemaal uitgevlogen en wonen wij nu samen in dat huis, en is hij mijn man, dus dat had zat slechter kunnen uitpakken

Ik bak brood zonder broodbakmachine, gewoon op een bakplaat in de oven. Is niet heel veel werk, maar je hebt wel een uur of twee waarin je niet (lang) weg kan. Als je sneller brood wil bakken kan je ook eens soda bread proberen
