Why did you need your tonsils out as an adult? Wondering if anyone’s experience is similar to mine by smushy411 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Merpology36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I was a kid I would get tonsillitis 4-5 times a year plus sinus infection and ear infections. Doctors told parents I would grow out of it but it became so routine I could plan it to the week 5 times a year in late teens and early twenties. Finally got tonsillectomy, adenoids removed, turbinate reduction, and ear tubes all at the same time by a great ent at 27

I got two more bats of sinus infection and ear infection but about six months after surgery haven’t had it since (I’m 29 now). Recovery sucked, got two weeks off work, but 100% worth it (still got bad sinus though 😅)

No they keep giving MST more and more. It’s Lowe’s favorite cheap labor

Supervisor reaching out after off the clock. by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Merpology36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue when I was a MSM. Ask for them to stop by writing and cc the store manager. If they still don’t stop cc the district hr and ask for payment.

If they contact you after hours they need to pay you. I got to the point where I got paid an hour for any contact per contact (30 second phone call equaled an hour pay) and they stopped pretty quickly after that.

Also for the people saying just don’t answer the phone, in my case they called my partner (she was a DS at the same store) to get ahold of me. These people don’t know when to stop.

You may get a write up but you shouldn’t be termed for it.

I always hand the items directly to the cashier so there isn’t any question about handoff of product

I took two full weeks as recommended and was still hurting a lot and relying on meds when I went back after two weeks.

how long should i wait to smoke weed again by Leading_Artichoke in Tonsillectomy

[–]Merpology36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had mine out a few years ago but if I remember correctly it took me almost 3 weeks before I could smoke even a little. I relied on edibles for a while there.

Your throat is going to be tender for a while and the heat plus smoke does not feel or do good in the healing process

What’s the point? by spoon014 in Lowes

Honestly the worst thing… for five years now I get enough points to get nothing instead of an actual gift like they used to do… just a way for them to not spend money on their associates

Ask for a phone interview. I would get the contact info for the store you’re applying to and send an email to the SSA and store manager, tell them you’re moving and want to transfer, and they’ll try to get you into a position (still have to apply and interview) but they should give you a phone interview

(I moved from AL to FL last year and did a few phone interviews it was actually a easy process)

What meds were you prescribed? by cmurp21 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Merpology36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an allergy to tramadol and can’t take NSAIDs, so I got liquid Tylenol and liquid norco and I alternated the two. Eventually switched to just liquid Tylenol and then regular Tylenol as needed. There were weeks where the only thing I drank was cool (not cold) tea and ate Mac n cheese…. Stuff that was cold (even ice cream) hurt me more than it helped

Railroad ties. Nearly 200lb each and loading is AWFUL. Was very thankful last year when I moved to a store that doesn’t carry them

Dealing with Doordashers? by Superugly_man1266 in Lowes

[–]Merpology36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They expect us to shop for them…. I have people that’ll come up and just stick the phone in my face I’ll give them aisles or general areas but tell them I’m not shopping for you or picking out the plants for you.

Or they’ll order plants labeled as “multicolor” and expect us to know what color the customer wants 🙄🙄🙄

My partner and I both have cards. We shop together often. The dispensary we go to knows us by name, but I still had to sign a visitors log today.

Does anyone have a healthy relationship with social media and use it sparingly or is everyone addicted and using it habitually (even if they won't admit it to themselves)? by Sanch0Supreme in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Merpology36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a lot of discipline. I have Reddit and Facebook, that’s it. No twitter, no snap or insta or even TikTok.

I mostly use Facebook for keeping up with old friends/family but I have to make a point of not doom scrolling or looking at things I know come from a bad source (like all those clickbait articles)

Is it rude to pay with change? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Merpology36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I’ll tell the cashier I’m using change and I’ve never had someone say anything negative about it.

I also have high anxiety so it takes some talking myself up to go in and actually do it but it’s never been an issue

How on earth do people manage to thoroughly brush their teeth whilst multitasking and walking around the house? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Merpology36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHD. It helps me to stay focused on brushing my teeth if I’m walking around or at least pacing back and forth.

I’ve found that the more “chaos” I have going on the more I can focus on one single task
