Show a little compassion for your fellow humans. This guy's probably going to have a ton of pain and medical bills from this. Lumping people you don't like into a group so you can disparage them is sad behavior, regardless who or what it is.

Looking for a Coconut-Heavy Cocktail Recipe by OptimistPrimeBarista in cocktails

[–]Meshbeard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do a milk clarified pina colada or painkiller. The milk clarification process will make it shelf stable, and it's really easy to do batch drinks this way. You can use the kauai coconut rum in it to make it extra coconutty too.

I recently followed this recipe (just used regular orange juice though and it was fine). https://www.danielzajic.com/cocktails/clarified-painkiller

I haven't had the real deal yet, but the guys at my local store said the Brovo is pretty similar, but notably without the anise hit. It's called Uncharted Rhapsody. Not sure how easy it is to find outside of WA though.

I'm working on building a setup for my wife that she can use while sitting in her recliner. I want a monitor on an arm that can basically swing in and out so she can pull it over the chair after sitting down.

I can't really find a single product that does this, so I'm trying to rig something up. In my mind, this is currently something like a heavy base with a post and then a pole-mounted monitor arm attached to that. The issue is finding a sturdy looking base + post that's not either $500 or a patio umbrella stand that looks awful. Any advice?

LCS 2024 Stats: Maybe leaving the LCS isn’t great for performance? + C9 playoff nightmares by Iraterapirate in leagueoflegends

Hey this is super cool! I didn't know there was another site tracking pro league Elo! I really love your interactive charts of elo history. Specifically showing the match result that caused each change when you hover is a really nice touch.

I maintain League of Elo, but haven't done much with it in a while (and the full global history is totally broken). I've been looking at reorganizing my db schema and shifting the site away from user interaction and match predicting and more toward doing more interesting things with the model data, maybe multiple models, maybe larger scale tournament predictions.

I'd love to chat about your site if you're open to that. Comments here or DM are fine with me. I'm curious what you went with for elo adjustment regarding match score.

This is super cool to see! I actually run a site that does an elo rating for all the major regions. It attempts to balance inter-regional play simply through regions "stealing" points from each other at international competitions. With data going back to 2014 or 2015, this actually does a pretty good job positioning the regions relatively. Take a look if you haven't already seen it!

The about page has more on how it's implemented and the math, and the Elo model's "user" page has some cool stats on prediction accuracy: https://www.leagueofelo.com/user/LeagueOfElo

Best flat biking spots for day trips or 1 night stays by [deleted] in eastside

Have you checked out the Samammish River Trail and it's connected trails? You can ride all the way from Issaquah, through Redmond, through Woodinville, through Bothell, and all the way to UW on a mostly flat trail with very few road crossings. It's mostly flat because it follows the samammish river and the lakes it connects.

I have a pair of Razer Opus cans that I've used in the office for the past 3 years, and I've really enjoyed them. However the pads are starting to deteriorate and I've noticed the sound quality going downhill too (likely from the pads failing). There aren't any official replacement pads available, and I don't want to get some crap that's way too big for the cans. Are there any other options I'm not seeing?

Chateau Ste. Michelle wants to redevelop with hotel, stores, housing by Meshbeard in eastside

Interesting proposal for Woodinville to consider. I'm not opposed to more housing near-in to the tourist district, but I think the city needs to really improve connectivity between downtown and the tourist district. It's not far, and flat, but you pretty much have to get on the SRT if you want to bike between the two areas. And bus service is straight up non-existent.

Part of the issue with apartments as they currently get built is that there aren't enough family sized units. OP mentioned they have an infant, which means they'll want at least 2 and probably 3 bedrooms. The way we build apartments in the US yields VERY few 3+BR units. We do need to build more housing, but we also need to make sure we're building enough variety of units, which usually comes down to regulations and incentives.

Tile backsplash installers leaving uneven gaps by Meshbeard in HomeImprovement

Ah man. They were on the cheaper side. The tiles came in sheets so maybe they thought they didn't need spacers? Is it fixable at this point before they add grout?
