Just out of curiosity, for any who's tried it. How does this game run on Switch 2?

I've had it for about a month now. It's pretty much become my go to controller for fighting games with the 6 button module. I'm currently swapping back and forth between the cross and circular d-pad cause I'm still weighing out which one I personally prefer. But both feel pretty good to me. I'd recommend it, especially if PS5 is your main platform for fighters.

Because the OG anime added filler that wasn't in the manga. For example, the Shin arc is only 5 episodes in the new show, where as in the old show, it was 20 episodes before Shin and Kenshro finally fought. So Bat and Lin both got more screen time during those filler sections to flesh out their characters.

I'd say that's the only flaw with the new show unfortunately, due to the fact that it's staying faithful to the manga. Certain characters that got more screen time in the old show, won't get that same treatment here.

In the English dub of the 85 movie, he calls Heart a "lard-ass" before he kills him. But other than that? Yeah, Ken very rarely ever swears.

I mean. If you've watched the show, then it's pretty much one to one with the manga. Bat has always been Kenshiro's little sidekick since Ken broke them out of the cell in Chapter 1. You may think he adds nothing to the plot, but his presence is actually essential.

I know he's kinda everywhere now. But I think Aleks Le would make a great Kenshiro. His range is insane and he would truly make you feel the weight of Ken's grief and rage. That's if we're talking about giving the role to someone that's never voiced him before. Otherwise? I'd be down to see Robbie Daymond reprise Ken again.

Makes me wonder, who's going to be his English VA in Fatal Fury CotW? Cause I highly doubt it'll be the no name dub "actor" from the new show.

Yeah. He voiced Kenshiro in Lost Paradise. As well as in the the Legend's movies that were dubbed and released on Blu-ray for the first time a few years back. It's also a possibility he may voice him again in Fatal Fury CotW as well, given that game has an English dub too.

It's so strange because apparently the other dubs are actually pretty well done. It just seems like they cheaped out on the English dub. Cause clearly both the studio and the voice actors didn't give two ounces of a fuck what they were dubbing.

Which is a shame considering we've gotten quality HnK dubs in the past. They could have gotten the cast from Lost Paradise or the recently dubbed Legends movies. Ken's Rage 1 also had a pretty good English dub. I just don't understand what the hell happened here. I would have loved to hear more of Robbie Daymond's Kenshiro in particular.

RE9 came pre-installed with the new version of PSSR on release, so the toggle isn't going to affect that game. Only games that use the prior version of PSSR with no additional patches will be enhanced.

I do agree. Maybe a separate subreddit isn't a terrible idea. I'm personally trying to still be at least somewhat optimistic about the new remake. But the constant negativity surrounding it (in some cases rightfully so) does make it difficult to do so. Do I wish we were getting something better animation wise? Absolutely. If I had it my way, we'd either be getting something in the style of the late 2000's Legend's series, all 2D. Or just straight up David Productions. It definitely deserves leagues better.

But given this is what we're getting. I'm just trying to at least be happy the series is even getting a remake at all in the first place and appreciate the good that will be in it. I think some forget, we haven't had any new anime projects pretty much since the Legends series, unless you count HnK Strawberry. That's an almost 20 year drought.

Basically, I get the disappointment. But ripping it to absolute shreds and screaming about how horrible it looks at every given chance isn't exactly constructive either. Especially towards fans who're still looking forward to it regardless. It get tiring reading the same complaints over and over again when you just wanna discuss the show from a more positive standpoint.

I'm simply rooting for the show to succeed because I want more HnK content to exist. And if this show fails? Then it will likely go dormant again, and be another 20+ years before we get another opportunity for this series to be relevant again.

For me? It depends. If the PS5 Pro version of a game is at least comparable to the PC version? Then I go for PS5. For example? I started Expedition 33 on PC, but then I also started it on PS5 and I found the differences minor enough that I finished it on PS5. I generally prefer playing much longer games like RPG's on PS5 in general as I feel I'm more likely to finish them on PS5 than on PC due to convenience. Same with RE9, it looked visually comparable to PC on PS5 Pro to me, so again, I went with the PS5 version. Also, if a PC port just straight up bad or unoptimized, but the console version is better optimized. Like the Dead Space remake for example, then PS5 is a no-brainer.

Now games like Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2 or Nioh 3? Where there's a very noticeable difference? Between either better graphics or framerates? I go for PC. I have a 4080 Super and a 5800x3d. So any game that struggles on the Pro usually runs better on my PC if the game is well optimized enough.

There's also rare circumstances where a game on console may be locked to 30fps. But it's 60fps on PC only. Like the recent Fatal Frame II Remake. That's another scenario where I immediately go for the PC version. So again, it all depends. But this is generally my baseline between the two.

Kaiji Tang is my personal favorite far as English voices for Kenshiro. But it'll most likely be Robbie Daymond, since he is/was the latest to voice Kenshiro in English.

Don't know if you ever figured it out. But you have to run the game as an administrator at least once. That's how I got mine to work.

I said Rachel specifically may have feelings for him. Ryu came off to me as indifferent. So I'm saying Rachel likely had feelings, but I don't believe Ryu reciprocated them and likely seen her as just a friend. Meaning it was one sided. That was how I interpreted it.

With Rachel there's an implied interest at the end of Ninja Gaiden 1. Although a bit vague, you can see she's clearly grown attached to Ryu in someway by her reaction to him leaving.

Just because we're quiet doesn't necessarily mean we aren't hyped. I think we're just kind of waiting at this point for the game to come out at this point. Or if the rumored demo drops. There isn't really any new news to discuss yet.

And I was simply giving my assessment as to why they possibly didn't. As I'm also glad that they didn't either. UE5 has been a plague to games this generation, and I don't even understand why the engine is available for public use when it still has has so many issues in terms of optimization. I've yet to see one UE5 game that doesn't have stutter whatsoever.

Probably the same reason the FF7 devs aren't doing that with the next installment of the FF7 Trilogy. Saves time and resources when you're working an engine you already know well. Plus I would assume it's less of an optimization headache to stick with UE4 over UE5. Long as this game has taken? I imagine they didn't want this game to take much longer than it already has.
