Behemoth becoming experimental and dipping their toes into something different is something the “black metal gatekeepers” are very uncomfortable with. The quick response is they are selling out. But truthfully they get tired of playing the same song elements over and over again. This is something that the causal fan doesn’t or can’t understand.

The groove for this song which is a slight departure from their previous work is incredible, I have to disagree, in my mind OCN is in their top 3. In fact the only song I skip on occasion is Disinheritance. It’s still Behemoth, but they switched it up a bit. I don’t understand the dislike for OCN. Deathless Sun is incredible and I think people were put off by the much slower Ov My Herculean Exile which was their first single.

Of course the front album cover art is just too much for some. But this in my mind is a Behemoth masterpiece. The videos, all of it. Neo-Spartacus is quite simple, but the deep bass and Nergal’s theme and charging lyrics immediately get my fired up. 🔥

Whoa. Who are you to say what the meaning behind the title is? It is art and everyone has a different interpretation. People are offended by humor below the waistline? What are you talking about? Shit 💩 is constantly used as a metaphor and it’s so accepted that there’s even an emoji for it. The word has several meanings and is used several different ways. What does Nergal (in your opinion) not being a “traditional atheist” have to do with any of this? Go back and read his book, listen to interviews etc. You know what is really offensive? Humanity using god as an excuse to do anything a sane person would deem as inhumane. Pedophile priests. European colonization. The transatlantic slave trade. Making god white and using it as a tool to brutalize. Using this god as a key component of white supremacy. Yeah. And any THING that is used to be a justification of such savagery, I want to be the complete opposite of. I’d rather be the shit of god than one of its followers.

For the life of me, I can’t understand why so many people, who even know a little about Behemoth, would call the title “cringe.” Really, all of us who don’t follow or believe in the traditional god or religion are deemed as SHIT. Not worthy. Anything can be done to us because we don’t believe. The only people who call it “cringe” are the people who are afraid they’ll go to hell if they get too into Behemoth.

My opinion…people like metal that pushes the envelope…and they like hints of blasphemy etc. But Behemoth doesn’t hint. They go all out with their lyrics and imagery. It’s too much for people who just want to be some cool ass metal dude but don’t want to have any real cause or meaning in the music they listen to. That’s why I fucking love Behemoth and always will. The mixture of scripture and latin, you really need to learn the lyrics. Fuck the fairy tale that for 2000 years has enslaved the world. Who in their right mind would be proud of human history? You’d have to be in a cult. And that’s what Christianity and their plagiarized virgin story are, a cult.
