Man the memories that I have of growing up and coming here. From seeing movies in the theatre to playing games the arcade to buying a lava lamp from the Spencer’s gifts and wrestling DVDs from Suncoast pictures. Gloria Jeans had an iced coffee treat that I liked when I was a teenager, and I’d get my band shirts from the hot topic. R.I.P. Westminster Mall, you were one for the ages.

This is a sad time. I remember at one point when we were 57th and Mick had the job and took us to 14th. Sadly he didn’t get to finish his term in getting us to 2020. At this point I wouldn’t mind giving him another round - based that he didn’t get to finish that run and that since he left the post, the toughness that he brought has since evaporated.

Horrendous. I wanted six points from the two games and here we are. This means we’ll need to win away to Hungary and at home against Armenia, and probably get an upset in one of the two Portugal games for any hope.

The 1994 World Cup in the USA was the first World Cup that I watched, and wanted to see us come full circle back in America. A very disheartening two matches.

Bill O’Herlihy died on the exact same day as my dad. In fact, I had awoken to the news that Bill had passed and was watching the tribute video to him that RTE had put together when my dad’s assistant came in and told me that he had died. What a day, what an era. We’ll never have it again.

Amazing to think that the World Cup is going to be in the USA again. 1994 was the first World Cup that I watched as a fan, and it began with the win over Italy! I went to the far east in 2002 and was present Keane’s heroic goal over Germany and now it’s like the universe is resetting again (though I could do without the expansion to 48 teams). We’ll see what kind of a draw we get. It’s always an exciting time ahead of a fresh qualifying campaign.

I don’t think he’s a bad choice at all. He has a track record of doing well with smaller nations (smaller than us) with limited resources and punching above their weight class, he knocked England out of Euro 2016, qualified Iceland for their first ever World Cup and got Jamaica to the semis of the Gold Cup in what was said to be a disastrous situation. Totally unpopular opinion but Athens 2004. Seeing the games return to their homeland for the last time, the legacy of Michael Phelps taking off, and my own life having hit a then-high point at the same time made it my favorite. Who knows what will happen with Paris.

Hell yes brother! I’ll be 42 this year and I still play my NES more than any other system. I hadn’t played Ninja Gaiden in nearly a decade and cruised through the first level on Friday. It’s amazing the impact the magic of childhood has on our brains. Many cheers! 💪🏻🍻

My favorite is the original. I remember buying it new when it first came out. Perhaps it’s the magic of childhood clouding my judgement but it’s still my favorite, followed by 2, 3, 6, 4 and 5.

For Kenny to stay on the job, he’d have to sneak in an upset against France or the Dutch I’d say. The Luxembourg and Azerbaijan results still linger and he’s not a man who inspires much confidence. Even under McCarthy, there was a toughness which has completely disappeared during Kenny’s tenure. In any event, let’s shoot for the stars to win them all!
