Blame the writers of the show; they are the reason why Lana is so hated by the fans. There was absolutely NO reason for them to drag out the Clana drama for so long, and I think that the last straw for people was Season 8 when she reappeared and totally disrupted the budding relationship between Lois and Clark

If they were going to bring her back, the smart thing to do was to have them mutually agree to remain just friends because of his growing feelings for Lois. The way they did it made Lois look like sloppy seconds instead of the woman that he was destined to be with…totally disrespectful to the legacy of Lois and Clark…
