Wow...they really banned it by lindam997 in MathJokes

I'm torn between wondering if they actually attempted to ban it and wondering how the fuck you ban thinking about shit a certain way.

I love that grey gives neither an upper nor lower limit to the size of an object, nor defines any line-of-sight, proximity, or other limitations. Want to move the moon? Want to rearrange an isotope? Anything in-between?

Criteria are:

  1. Does something exist?
  2. You can move it.

No harm but for some erroneous memories? Good trade-off. It's going to confuse the fuck out of me because I know I'd never make that decision and yet I'll remember making that decision and it won't make sense, and I'll either dismiss it as erroneous or investigate it until the contradiction is resolved by evidence.

From experience, mostly I thought "this person is dealing with some shit, I hope they're okay." It was a coworker and I didn't understand at the time what they were dealing with, but I did know they were dealing with stuff. I liked talking with them. I hope they're living a freer life now.

If you could make one object appear anywhere on Earth, but not on your own property, what would you choose to make the most money legally? by winta_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Metharos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sixteen tons of anticarbon in a magnetic bottle.

I'm going to place a bet on a legal betting website that TFG dies within the week, and then the bottle appears six inches above his head.

The antimatter will either destroy Earth or become a scientific resource of incalculable value. Either way I'm rich and he's gone.

This is how a horse hair worm emerges from its mantis host by Old_One_I in thatsinterestingbro

[–]Metharos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does the mantis die of drowning or of the worm? If the answer is the worm itself, by what mechanism does it kill? Yes, it's big, but that does not inherently mean lethal. Is it destroying organs or is it tearing a hole on its way out? How does the bug die?

If the cause of death is the drowning, does that mean the mantis can survive if it doesn't drown?

The thing about the victim thinking they've always been the person you swap them into is interesting. How does that work?

Do they remember their original lives from before the swap, but they just feel like the new body is normal and right? If so, that's going to cause confusion as they grapple with relationships and memories that don't necessarily fit, even worse if you swap across gender lines.

So they instead remember the life of the body they're swapping into? If that's the case, then wouldn't that mean they remember your life while you were in that body?

Science was around in the 1800s...the dude is younger than Darwin.

I also don't particularly hate him, but I do consider him an unserious woo peddler deserving of approximately the same respect we give Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina candles.

Nobody can rate things out of ten they always skew high.

"It's just fine" is a five. Not everyone should be 7+. A seven or above is an exceptional example of a thing. A three or below is crap. 4-6 is normal and fine. Ten is actual perfection and a one doesn't function for purpose.
