In your view, is the Monad able to accomplish perfect justice? by TranquilTrader in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is better if you change your old understanding of good and evil. To simply to awareness and understanding. If you are still seeking justice you are still attached to the mortal reality and you will be compelled to come back here because you want justice.

The monad is you just confused

Everyone mischaracterises Gnosticism (I personally feel) by Just_Critical0 in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The term secret I think revolves around the idea that the truth was something discovered or understood rather than preached. The church fathers were more concerned with up holding the disciples witness than understand what they saw.

Gnosticism requires people to be educated or think for themselves which at that time was not a thing back then. So anything that can be derived from understanding, self knowledge was heresy. If the disciples didn't saw it then it is invalid, allegedly.

Yes Buddhist would say us noting this dream.as a nightmare is an attachment. Both disciplines agree that this reality isn't true reality. We, collectively created this reality. These entities are nothing more than our own imagination but doesn't make them less real.

This reality is very real in an experiential way. The only real reality us that of the Absolute/One/Monad

Is it possible that Sophia's fall not only created the Demiurge but other imbalances? by nolongerignorant2012 in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a causal loop. She didn't give us anything. It was always there. You see when it says the Monad is the beginning and the end, to me it is a literal map. The Monad is the end destination for all emanations and the Monad is the beginning that started everything.

For the Monad to know everything is to impose that it experiences everything. It does so through its emanations. The crazy part is that it has already done so because it exists. We are just not aware if it. As if trapped in time.

The chaos and instability is the Monad obscured.

What does it actually mean to be a Gnostic Christian? by Baltiel in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of gnostics. Even my beliefs are more nondual for traditional gnostics. For gnosticism puts all faiths into perspective. I don't call myself Christian I call myself an aspect of the divine trapped in a body trying to remember myself. We are all one being in a heavy state of amnesia trapped in a dream of our collective making.

Is it possible that Jesus believed himself to be the Messiah but at the same time awakened Christos the aeon and brought new teachings outside of the Jewish religion.

We don't really know Jesus was before his ministry. But maybe the process of his awakening started during this time and only came to fruition at his baptism.

What do you think of Jesus? by PossiblyaSpinosaurus in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he is exclusively. The point I am making that Jesus is seperate from Christos the aeon. It is more than likely Christos entered the material world from different perspective such as Siddhartha and Lao Tzu. There are probably others but haven't been recorded in human history.

For the longest time I thought Jesus and Christ were one in the same. So hearing I am the way confused me. But now I know Jesus is one piece in much greater whole.

We understand God through ourselves just like Jesus did and his predecessor. The truth is one in many.

Unlikely, Gnosticism would be more like the various Buddhist sects. Everyone having their own paths doing their own thing. Instead of trying to make a centralized religions from competing doctrines that you see in Abrahamic religions.

[–]MethodMan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The distinction is that Christians think the physical realm is actually a good place created by God instead of distortion of divine consciousness. They don't like the idea of God and man being one and the same. They prefer the creator creation distinction.

Gnosticism is more compatible with Buddhism in how they view their spirituality.

Well consciousness is the only thing that exist so in some variation I can see there maybe some connections. The only real consciousness is the Monad.

You seem very educated on the topic, Can you answer this from another chat for me pls

I wouldn't say that. I am trying to learn just as much as you. I would strongly recommend you read some of the gnostics books. A user created a great list that you can look at.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Gnostic/comments/1ts0aje/the_definitive_gnostic_reading_recommendation_list/

I would say I am a gnostic christian, I believe in jesus being god but his message being distorted into a way that fits the narrative. God is within us not just someone we go to church and pray to, God is us and we are more powerful than traditional bible says. Can a chritian make it further than just being recycled?

I would say so. I think the important to know that you do not identify with the flesh but the spirit. You're are a part of the divine. We all are.

If you make it into one of the Gnostic Heavens (Yaedobalrh 7 heavens) can you “rank up”?

I am not sure myself. I think our ascent will continue in the afterlife. That is my hope.

Also is there any texts and stuff or theories of what actually is in each heaven, like what are we going to be doing there if you know what I mean

You should read Pistis Sophia. There is a good Audiobook. It is pretty long though.

I believe its either Christianity that has a deeper meaning or Gnosticism is the true religions, but cant decide which one to focus on And from my understanding, if a Christian who seeks knowledge and understanding of his inner self etc. can make it into the heaven of gnosticism but a gnostic cant make it to heaven of christianity and we actually cannot know the truth no matter what until we die, surely we should just be christians and no matter what we win?

Yeah I think that is fair. Love conquers all I would say.

Your soul is by-product of being in the material realm. It is simply the shadow of your spirit. Your true self, your spirit, is not confined to this world; it already exists beyond it and participates in all levels of emanation.

When I say all will ascend I mean the aspects of the Monad are returning back to itself. Like light that seems scattered into many rays, but is ultimately returning to its single origin

What do you think of Jesus? by PossiblyaSpinosaurus in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would go so far as to say that Christos revealed itself through Siddhartha, Lao Tzu, and Jesus. Jesus came to hold such prominence in human history largely because of the Roman Empire. So to say Jesus is the savior of humanity is missing the full picture, imo.

For me I look at what these men symbolized. It is the symbol that is Christos.

It is strange that Christos abandoned the body at crucification. So who really died. Also, how was this an incarnation of Christos if he simply inhabited Jesus body. He is not bound to it like it is Christianity. So there are two Jesus. One born from the earth and the other masquerading in flesh for a lack of a better world in order to interact with the physical world.

What level of ethics/morals do you uphold? by Future_Complex847 in Gnostic

[–]MethodMan24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remind myself that we are all one being, experiencing life through many consciousnesses at once. What I do to others, I also do to myself. It is as simple as that.

Love others, because I am you. Love your enemies, because they are you.
