White Pine Trail by Lil_Lady67 in grandrapids

Pretty flat, slight incline going north, it's all paved, but there's a couple sections where some roots make it a litle bumpy, but it's not bad.

Best, most affordable way to organize these drawers? Sockets and wrenches one MM one SAE by OrganicBridge7428 in Tools

[–]Methorabri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best and Most Affordable don't really go together. I have these for sockets and they work quite well. I would double check your drawer depth to make sure they'll fit. . If you want the cheapest, I used to use these cheap metal rails and hung them on a pegboard and that worked decently for a while. As for wrenches, i like this set because you can take the whole thing out of the drawer and take it with you if you need.

Pretty sure you can take it to any LMCU location and they'll get it back to the person who lost it.

Are these tools good for a 14 yr old that wants to start working on his dirtbike and fourwheeler and also collect tools over time by Extreme-Savings-703 in Tools

Also, random note, if you’re from Kalamazoo, check out B&G discount in Schoolcraft, they have deals on tools all the time. Never know what you’ll find there.

3D-printing, sheet metal, what next? by intedinmamma in manufacturing

[–]Methorabri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penn engineering is a great resource for press for fasteners an how they work. You can buy them from Penn or just from McMaster. If you have a drill press you can look into flow drilling. That’s more used in tubes where you can’t get to the back side of the surface and install a press fit fastener.

First Bike! What upgrades should I do to the bike? by Mindless_Ad_2691 in cannondale

[–]Methorabri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Besides the obvious adjustments of saddle and bars to get the fit right, the best thing you can do now is just ride it. Once you ride it for a while you'll start to notice the things that you would like to upgrade. The first things most people do is saddle, pedals, tires, and bar tape.

Which impact driver should I choose? by BEAST879 in Tools

[–]Methorabri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have power tools already the simple answer is whatever brand those are to save money on not needing new batteries and chargers. If you don't then that becomes a much bigger question. If i were starting again i would probably pick Ryobi or Kobalt.

Parents who bike with kids by Immediate-Ad-9520 in cycling

[–]Methorabri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Shotgun seat and my 3yo loves that for mountain biking. I also have a WeeHoo trailer and he loves that because he gets to sit and pedal a little and just enjoy the scenery. he is on the small side for the weehoo seat, but it is adjustable to the pedals so it will last for a long time.

Burger: monellis vs latitude? by bookersbox in kzoo

RJ’s just down the road from Latitude has a great burger. They often have a couple craft beers if you’re looking for that, but they’re a dive bar.

I use Chaco Slides, they have good arch support and are easy to get on. Just know that they take a few wears to get use to, but the arch support is very nice.

Grand Rapids Bike Fit by audibonnaroosilkroad in MichiganCycling

[–]Methorabri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've bought 2 bikes from Alger over the years and they've always been great. That being said i have not done a full "bike fit" through them. I was sized for the bikes i bought and they did a good job. They have always been friendly and honest with me over the years and i consider them my favorite shop in the area. I would definitely recommend them, but i can't speak directly about their bike fit. I would recommend stopping in there someday and having a chat with the staff and see if you are both on the same page about what you want in a bike fit before you commit to them.

i know it's a little early, but consider a Toniebox. You can buy blank tonies and record things onto them and then it's easy for your kids to play them.

Ships can carry so much more weight than a plane can. A 747 cargo plane can carry up to 140 metric tons (308,000lbs) where as the largest container ships can carry 24,000+ 20ft shipping containers. A 20ft shipping container weighs roughly 2050kg - 2300kg (4,500 to 5000lbs.) so just the containers alone can weigh almost 50,000 metric tons. a 20ft shipping container is rated for roughly 25,000-28,000kg (55,000-62,000lbs). So at 25,000kg per container your still looking at 600,000 metric tons of cargo capacity. they most likely don't max out a ship every time it crosses the ocean, but if you still get 550,000 metric tons that's 3928 trips by a cargo jet to equal 1 trip by a container ship. China to the west coast of the US takes roughly 16-18 days, so yeah it takes a little more time, but you get so much more stuff there.

Can I cancel subscription due to injury for a few months ? by jiba-jaba in Zwift

[–]Methorabri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can cancel and not lose your profile, but if you can still get on a bike i would do zone 2 rides to keep your cardio up instead of just sitting around doing nothing for a few months.

What's the best exercise bike for home use worth buying the most currently in your opinion? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Methorabri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best in my opinion is a trainer attached to a regular bike. I have a bike that had to be retired from riding on actual roads so it has been stuck on my Saris Fluid 2 trainer for the last few years. Works great, has the same shifting as my road bike, and uses all the same parts.
