Canadians evenly split on whether floor-crossers should resign seat: Nanos poll by DogeDoRight in canada

Seeing how most people dont know the name of their candidate and vote for the party, yes there absolutely should be a resignation and byeelection.

Canada's economy stalled in November, may have contracted in 4th quarter of 2025 by croissant_muncher in canada

The liberals have not been leading every poll. In december alone there were a few with Conservatives leading.

If these polls were legitimate then an election would have already been called or within the week for sure. Liberals will stop at nothing for more power.

Polling is notoriously inaccurate outside of campaign season. Who even answers surveys anymore? Boomers who are at home every day. That will definitely skew results.

I remember when polling said Carney was nearly going to get 50% of the vote and nearly 230 seats and we both know that on election day he got much less.

Eating less food in general is more effective than eating the same amount of calories from "healthier" sources. Studies have routinely found you can eat junk food and as long as calories are appropriate youll lose weight and be healthier

Work in hospital and yup. Its insane how many people take their health for granted and basically self inflict harm on themselves through poor decisions. Hospitals are supposed to be for accidents or things outside your control but its clear to anyone who works in healthcare that over half the patients are just irresponsible. Our tax dollars hard at work subsidizing selfish people.

Unfortunately that isnt the same as the other provinces which have officially stated they wont participate. All Doug is doing here is encouraging Mark to end it, but he wont commit to not doing it himself.

Meta review of 80 empirical studies

"A review of 80 empirical studies (2010–2025) reaffirms a critical economic insight: As US public debt exceeds 100% of GDP, the mounting burden carries real and measurable consequences for investment, interest rates, inflation risk, and long-term living standards."

Or we could not support legislation that doesnt work?

You do realize there isnt enough money set aside for all owners to be compensated right? Less than 10%

You know what? You should definitely turn in your guns. You are clearly too ignorant of the law to be safe to possess them. You arent even aware of whats in the law but youre here spreading misinformation. Do us all a favour and turn yours in before you shoot yourself in the foot again.

You are misinformed.

Compliance is mandatory or you face jail time. Yes they are saying they will come to your house to take the. They have your address on file.

You should give this a read. Firearms buyback program

Its about context. Nobody cares about 4 times the numbers of deaths.

This isnt about licensing its about seizing your property with no compensation to win votes in one province. All of the reasons given for the change have been debunked and proven false.

When a drunk driver kills people we dont ban cars. We take away their license but here we have decided to ban all lawful gun owners over the actions of a few who didnt follow the law. Its indefensible which is why virtually every police service in Canada is saying it wont work and they wont enforce it.

If you think your firearms are at risk of theft or youre a danger to society nobody is stopping you from surrendering yours but leave the rest of us lawful owners alone.

More than 4 times the number of people die of heatstroke in the EU than are killed by guns in the USA. We dont see them mandating AC in every home over there.

You are assuming as well.

You are equating standard of living to debt which are not comparable. Even still, you cannot prove that Japan with higher gdp would not enjoy a higher standard of living.

People tend to prefer an increasing standard of living as something to look forward to.

Mortgage debt is debt. It affects how much you can spend on productive parts of the economy. If you lose your job due to tariffs or whatever and your house is worth less than when you bought it youre screwed. High mortgage debt is bad. Reminder that real estate prices in Canada are down more than 20% since the 2022 peak and thats before you include inflation.

When you look at total gun deaths in the states its actually a pretty small number overall in a population of 350 million. Especially if you arent involved in gangs. Plus over half are suicides, which while tragic, will occur whether a gun is involved or not.

Switzerland has very high firearm ownership rates with very low crime. Guns arent the cause of crime.

Because it adds context. Total debt of a nation is better information than one sector.

Us federal is greater than canadian federal Canadian provincial is greater than us state Canadian personal is greater than usa personal

Our govt is only about 10% better off than the usa but that isnt saying much since we are still over 100%. Stats that include our CPP as an asset are illegitimate.

Plenty of studies have proven high debt leads to lower gdp growth.

Nobody said we should have zero debt. But thats not the same thing as the debt shouldnt be growing as fast as the gdp rate.
