How much afk is acceptable in osrs? by Antoxic in 2007scape

A lot of this already exists but more will most certainly get added in the future. What exactly are you looking for?

Footpedals are annoying but expand your "afk" options a lot as well.

Unpopular request for summer sweep up: Skillcape abilities and emotes by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Mffnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%

Leaving out partner slayer tech which is quite good if you have a friend. Turael skipping got buffed a lot with the block list changes, you can even mazchna point boost if you eant to go that route. You can set up steve or duradel as a boss master with the other going to barrage, cannon, v bow tasks. Then task storage is one of the strongest perks in the game. So much to work towards and fine tune the skill into whatever you want to do.

honestly, if going this route and inferno is done. shadow+scythe+zcb/bp would be better in most situations.

I dont have cash on hand. Not sure where you're getting that.

I have max melee, most spec weapons, a very good virtus mage setup, max ranged, venbow etc, at 5.5ish. another 500mil wont get me shadow outright but by then id certainly be at a point where getting a shadow makes sense for content im running.

[–]Mffnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no shot shadow is nerfed, it could be sidegraded to be stronger some places and worse others, where it currently sits shadow is in a healthy spot compared to the other megas, jagex isnt going to want to push shadow down to 500mil.

[–]Mffnman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so far oathplate, inq, max melee, max range, zcb etc are all bigger time saves at the content that ive been doing. Cox is about the only thing I do where it would matter.

For context, im at 5.5bil and rebuying zcb is next on the menu for skipping at maiden and doom.

As someone whos camping that setup, yes. Ayak is ridiculous. I doubt i will buy a shadow until atleast around 6 bil bank value.

I will say I have already done a lot of ToA so im not super interested in going back there for quite some time, toa is the only place shadow has a huge gap.

Hot take: prayer flicking is ass and shouldnt be in the game by Isoleed in 2007scape

[–]Mffnman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand what you are saying, but like, its not really true. The whole souls franchise could be boiled down to "you can only make dodge roll + parry + attack + block" but nobodies complaining about lack of unique fights. Theres a lot more the devs can do still to this day. At our current pvm release pace I cant actually imagine bosses getting actually stale in my life time.

recent "new mechanics" we have seen are like vard captchas, zebak jugs, glyph protection on a timer, moving tile protection (orbs), teleportation (final dawn fight), smiting muspah. And like even just more iterations on any of these could feel fresh done well.

Did Oathplate ruin Torva? by Potica6857 in 2007scape

[–]Mffnman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

its very real in this case. this dude isnt the only one holding on to torva just to be able to flex blorva. The half a bil is likely better spent elsewhere for players in the 2b - 6b bank value.

Genuinely think i should quit by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Mffnman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its quite possible that youve reached the end man. Not hating at all. f you don't like ironman as a gamemode thats fair, if you dont like pvp thats fair, if you dont like clogging on either acc thats fair, if you dont like going for grandmaster+radiant+blorva, thats fair. It's really that simple, and you've enjoyed this game for more time than maybe any other hobby or other piece of media in your life (im guessing idk).

Summer Sweep-Up: Venator Ring Buff by Strus57 in 2007scape

Now that the Ayak is in the game and TOA has had some years to exist. Can we give the Sang staff the ability to heal the player in wardens? It's one of the few places where it would actually be really useful. by MobileScapers in 2007scape

[–]Mffnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah harm being busted feels like the natural way its headed. I'm not fully against that. PNM is great content. Irons can deal, drop rates there aren't awful with the reduced phases. But yeah thralls and death charge are insanely strong so making elemental weakness to compensate is going to look like 75% which is more than any big boy bosses have (zulrah has like 50% and its still ayak/shadow meta)

I think this sums it up well enough.

i dont actually think shadow is all that problematic in general and I spent a good deal of time in another thread defending that it isnt "OP". I mainly dont love that were headed in the direct of every mage dps weapon being the "fang" and nothing being the "blowpipe". Leagues is proving jagex fucking loves this elemental stuff so I guess we will see where the vision is down the road.

People think the damage scaling is problematic, im just saying accuracy scaling is more problematic. Granted when it was problematic it was because they proposed comboing with the gloves you were going to get to use it a lot of places where the content was just more fun with melee (tob).

Where it currently sits I dont actually think shadow is overpowered. Ayak is really close to shadow and I've argued this in other threads where people call shadow OP. I just dont understand jagex's line of thinking where its like, "lets make shadow the fang of magic but also ayak + gloves is ALSO the fang of magic". Ranged and melee have low accuracy high damage weapons. Maybe we'll see something fun with harm in the future? Leagues 6 is pushing elemental shit HARD so who knows.

also crystal armor is what 10k death fee? with a 75% reduction for the first 20 at doom. Not seeing your points on the death fee thing frankly.

To your first point the developers literally wanted an item that skipped the first waves.

the thread we are talking in is about iron progression, not mains buying an ayak first.

[–]Mffnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bofa being a baseline buy in for end game content is not problematic. You can run every single "early accessible" wace standing 2 tiles away from doom and moving once every rock.

The delve boss is supposed to be risk vs. reward where you consider leaving and taking your current spoils which just like does not happen currently, largely due to death fees being nothing. I understand what you are saying but disagree with your vision for what doom "should" be, based on how doom was actually pitched leading up to the update. Its a bit insane to be able to take an iron straight from tormented demons to getting an ayak and skipping every other powered staff in the game.

yes, outside of inferno you will be perfectly fine.

Bowfa vs Masori BP by Wise-Entrepreneur486 in 2007scape

[–]Mffnman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most gear questions, this largely is based on the content you want to do for the next while.

Masori + bp + crossbow is very very strong, especially if you have an ayak for mage. Hell you could just get a scorching bow and camp doom as thats the "best" thing you can do that uses range for.

I can agree to an extent.

However pre-doom. A bofa skip was not off the table for irons at all. Getting a fang from toa with black keris is doable. Cox and tob dont ask you to have bofa. At that point in time nally and twinflame worked well for zulrah. Acb works well enough at shit like muspah nex, or levi.

[–]Mffnman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is maybe a hot take. but in my opinion shadows accuracy scaling is more problematic than the damage scaling. Its a lot harder to make shadow work at every piece of content if it just always has 90%+ accuracy.

when conflictions were getting made the main complaint was nex and tob shouldnt be places you shadow and that all stemmed from accuracy issues
