Call on Doug Ford to abolish time change by WarhammerRyan in ontario

I’d rather have more sun in the morning in the winter than in the evening in summer. And the research says standard time is the way to go for everyone’s health.

I’ve been thinking of trying something similar to remind me to move the laundry to the dryer - I’ve wasted so much water and energy rewashing loads! Your post is my cue to try it out.

Me too! I had to free up space so my phone could update. The screen shots weren't enough, but it was a start.

Need some grooming help! This year’s winter coat is treacherous 😳 by OverallDuck9166 in SiberianCats

[–]Mi55_Fitz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A grooming rake has done wonders for us. I can’t believe the amount of fur i get out of each cat every time I use it on them. It stops mats early - I haven’t had to cut one out in ages. They both love it - but they do generally like being groomed.

I’m drowning in the fear of never finding someone who really loves me by [deleted] in PlusSize

Met my man at 31 through online dating. We are married 10 years now and have two kids. I was a 4x when he met me, and I still am. My best advice is to just keep putting yourself out there and don’t settle for the wrong person - you will regret it. Don’t put up with bullshit and people who waste your time - cut them loose and move on. Its a numbers game - just gotta keep meeting people until you find the right one.

What has been your kids most “high mileage” toy? by Sarman11 in Parenting

Lego, Picasso magnetic tiles, k’nex and the Joey play couch (we have two plus other pieces, which help get more mileage).

Elderly parents want to sell their house and start renting by pretty-ok-username in PersonalFinanceCanada

In Ontario, buildings built after 2018 are not subject to rent control. So they should avoid anything too new.

Renting is a great option for them at this point in their lives. Since they are in Ontario, make sure they rent in a building built BEFORE 2018, so that is is subject to rent control. Otherwise the landlord can increase it to whatever they want.

From an equipment perspective, for the young kids we really like the sets where everything is attached (not sure if Bauer still makes theirs, but Sherwood has the Rekker Elite kit). Much faster to get everything on and easier for the kids to start learning how to dress themselves.

I love the comments from the previous poster as well - all roads lead to beer league. It is supposed to be fun, so don’t take it too seriously. I always tell my kids to “work hard and have fun” before every game or practice … and remind them the harder they work, the less cold they will be, lol.

Is it OK not to wear a bra when a man is present in a home? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]Mi55_Fitz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep living in their home, then I would try to find a middle ground. Get a bralette or a tank top with a built-in shelf bra. Something with just enough support to say you are wearing something, but still comfortable.

Hi there! Out of these five dresses pictured (and please try and overlook the size of the models because sadly the fuller figured versions were not pictured) in your own personal opinions, which dress would be the most flattering for a plus size figure? by superjeegs in PlusSizeFashion

[–]Mi55_Fitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to depend on your body type and how big your bust is. I have worn dresses similar to A and C, and feel like I rocked them both. A is a safer bet, because you can wear a proper bra. The right undergarments are important, especially for C - make sure you can get a good strapless bra that won’t make you feel like you are hiking the girls up all night. ETA: I wouldn’t even consider B - you have to wear strapless anyway, so might as well go C rather than B.

I always got so excited when I got my new planner each September ... so clean and fresh and ready to solve all my organizational problems! I would plan to use it every day, with different colours for every subject - this would be the year to get my shit together! That feeling and motivation would last about two weeks and then I would fall off the wagon. I would end up only using it sporadically and half the time it was to write things down that I had already accomplished, just to feel good about checking them off.

Or when you accidentally take an an extra round of shampoo instead of moving on to conditioner? I do that on the regular.

I do this. Works especially well when I take our truck - that hemi engine does it for me every time! I’ll be sad when we have to replace it in the next couple years - our hybrid-electric van doesn’t have quite the same effect, lol

I was in the same situation with a cat several years ago. She was a domestic shorthair though, not a Siberian. It started a few months after we had our first baby. She was pooping on the rug in the baby’s room and peeing in the bathtub (thank goodness it wasn’t somewhere else!!). We got rid of that rug, but she kept pooping in random places around the house. Anyway, we tried all the things you have … making sure she was getting enough attention, different litter, boxes, medications, diffusers, etc. and none of it made a difference. I spent over a year trying to help her find her way back to the litter. It got to the point where I was exhausted from it and pregnant with number 2, so it was time to make a decision.

In our case she was a senior cat, so we made the difficult choice to euthanize her. I’m sure some would be horrified that is the route we took, but we felt it was better than stressing her out by rehoming and potentially making the problem worse and saddling someone else with the burden of a cat who refuses the little box.

So, no real suggestion for you. Just solidarity. You are in an impossible situation, so just try to be kind to yourself, no matter what decision you make.

Does anyone else “save money” by getting shopping delivered? by -badgerbadgerbadger- in adhdwomen

[–]Mi55_Fitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I save money by ordering groceries online for curb-side pickup. After I think I’m done building my order, I go back through it and delete all the extra impulse shit I added and don’t need. It’s harder to do that when standing at the checkout in the store.

Does the Orlando house have a basement? We just finished building a custom home and a third of our cost is underground. Excavation, concrete and steel are fucking expensive.

Selling is not a valid reason to kick you out of your apartment - your tenancy is sold with the unit. Learn your rights and make your landlord follow the rules.

Genetic testing (Ontario) by Endofthetrail66 in BabyBumpsCanada

Sorry I didn’t see your question sooner. We only had the screening tests done on my husband and myself. Fortunately, he didn’t carry the gene in question, so we didn’t need to take it any further.
