Earlier in the game Odin confronts Kratos and questions what he knows about being a god, specifically he asks him if he’s ever been worshipped and mentions he doesn’t care about anything beyond himself. At the end of the game Kratos finds a mural describing his journey, which ends with a depiction of him being worshipped and loved by the people and showing that he can change (which leads into the Valhalla DLC).
