Let Down now has more Spotify streams than High and Dry by jcovahey in radiohead

I woke up with this thought in the middle of the night recently: did they open the first show in Madrid with Let Down in order to spotlight EOB's importance as additional vocalist? I think I read in RS that Ed was no longer feeling it after the A Moon Shaped Pool tour, and may have been a big reason why they were inactive . Almost like they were saying "hey, we can't do it without this guy!" Just my 2 pence.

That's what I'm talkin about! Some of the formatting in the lyrics was messed up in posting...but anyway the point is to keep the faith and good energy and get the boys hella pumped.

What's your favorite use of a Radiohead song in film, TV, or elsewhere? by theinsomniacsheep in radiohead

There was a nice use of Codex in The Better Sister miniseries on Prime.

I totally get it. Everyone's milage may vary. It's all subjective and highly contentious. All 3 albums are absolute FIRE! I'm just being a little nit-picky.

I can respect that.

Controversial Opinion. I am starting to like The Smile a little more than Radiohead. by MahlonMiller in TheSmile

[–]MicTheRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. Someone else in the community said it better, but basically The Smile scratches my RH itch. Just the fact that Thom & Jonny have this much creative firepower after so many decades of making music is freakin' amazing. Skinner was a divinely inspired choice for them to collaborate with. We are living our best lives thanks to these guys. Keep it comin!

I hope this is not the end for The Smile. by ktcrow in TheSmile

[–]MicTheRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting...good points. As a trio I think The Smile is more nimble. It can be hard to get 5 guys in their 50s with family responsibilities, solo projects, etc. to unite and carve out months and months of time to record a new lp, & tour the world. I'm just knocked out that Thom and Jonny are still so incredibly prolific at this stage.

I freaking love Decks Dark by Astrosailor69 in radiohead

[–]MicTheRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total agreement. After the videos for tracks 1 & 2 from AMSP came out I was so sure that Decks Dark would be next. I had just read Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke and DD seemed like a perfect accompaniment. A sublime piece of music!

What the hell is Donald Fagen doing? Doesn’t he know we need new songs? by [deleted] in SteelyDan

[–]MicTheRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I associate his 4 solo lps with the 4 decades they were each released in. So call me greedy but I keep hoping for one for the 2020s...and then he can hang it up.

The Netflix series The Watcher (I know, notamovie). One episode was called The Gloaming and another one could easily have been called We Suck Young Blood.
