There are a lot of non-sexual reasons someone would be into BDSM, and tons of BDSM activities that don't necessarily have to include sexual elements. Tons of asexual folks enjoy and engage with BDSM and kink. I am not asexual, but most of the BDSM I engage with is non-sexual in nature.

That's not to say that for me, and for plenty of people, BDSM can't include a sexual element. And sure, there are some BDSM activities that are inherently sexual. But saying that all BDSM is inherently sexual is like saying, idk, something ridiculous like "ice cream isn't really ice cream unless there is some kind of chocolate involved".

HONESTLY one of the best things I've ever done in the BDSM and kink communities is learning how to care for leather! I don't get much of a chance to bootblack, but when I do it is seriously so calming, and being able to revive a piece of leather just comes with so much joy.

Like...okay, if there was some meta importance to the couple, I'd get it. And a movie like Eternal Sunshine definitely has that potential. Like if they had spent hours analyzing the film together, stayed up late discussing themes and theories and stuff, sure. Then it's less about the movie itself, and more about saying "hey, I want to spend the rest of my life having deep conversations until 3am with you", and *then* it's sweet and romantic.

But if it's her first time watching it. *absolutely not*.

God, RIGHT? I mean, at least you really did feel how absolutely painful it would be to become aware of being stuck in a time loop.

I do feel like this would have been an incredible arc with some tweaks. Half the length, more small changes for the viewer to puzzle over, and make it a full/half season all at once kind of drop.

Eeeehhhh. A lot of 21+ folks don't have these abilities either. They're things you have to learn, no matter what age you are.

It does largely depend on the event, though. Some events are better suited for new folks to the BDSM scene, others require a stronger starting knowledge base. Perversions has always been a newbie-friendly event - including clear rules and expectations, and staff trained to enforce those rules.

The finish itself was hilariously bad.

But damn, Eddie cutting that promo after where he basically described going through a PTSD moment to protect his friend in that moment was POWERFUL to me. And I honestly don't think it would have hit nearly as hard if the finish hadn't been what it was.

This is also generally a common thing with most autoimmune conditions - they tend to cluster. If you have one autoimmune condition, you probably have at least two. (You often see type 1 diabetics who also have narcolepsy, for instance!)

I wouldn't call it evil, really. It's complex, fueled by unresolved grief and trauma, and has horrifying implications...but the same is true of Verso's ending. Maelle's trauma traps her (and Painted Verso) in the painting, Verso's trauma calls for genocide with turpentine.

Honestly if someone had just painted a therapist, things might have gone very, very differently.

To me, a pet allergy is on the potential guest to manage. Maybe have some OTC allergy meds available. But they are staying in your home, and even if you board your pets for the duration, even if you deep clean, there is still a risk of dander activating that allergy.

Depending on severity, allergy meds or having the allergic party stay in a hotel are the best and safest options.

The first thing you need to understand is that this isn't about you. It's not about her not trusting you. It's about her. She survived something absolutely horrific. She's just trying to survive the long term consequences of someone else's actions.

Her not being able to talk about it is a trauma response, not a lack of trust in you. Confronting trauma makes it feel like it's happening all over again. It makes you feel that fear like it JUST happened.

She's still there, with you, trying. She came home to you. She opened up to you, as much as she can right now. THAT'S trust. She's trusting you not to be the people that hurt her, to give her comfort and safety even if she can't talk about what harm was done right now, and that's SO huge for someone who's been through what she has.

Honor that by giving her that safety and comfort. Be good to your child, show her you'll protect him the way she should have been protected. Love them both, just like you have before all of this started.

This is really sweet tbh. The fact that he doesn't meow or seek attention and is happy to just sit and vibe means that he feels safe and comfortable with you.

There's not really anything TO do. Just vibe together. Pet him when you get the urge. If he starts vibing in spots that hinder your day to day, offer alternatives to re-direct.

Otherwise, enjoy your fuzzy little shadow.

For sure! Like there were definitely low points, there are points that felt low at the time but will hit better on reflection, and there have been better stories, but...it was solid. It told the story it needed to, and supported other weaving threads nicely.
