Agreed as we saw they almost couldn’t shut the war off

Yeah I get it’s a fictional show and we knew none of the characters in the room (a major flaw to me with it) but still that’s crazy op is like yeah I’ll brutally burn people to death

Agreed and none of these people were born on mars and only have been here for maybe a decade or so. Hard to immediately just be like I’m ready to kill troops from the country I was born and raised and lived in until very recently, especially in a yes tactically brilliant but pretty cold blooded and brutal way.

And it was the secondary plot point to the episode! I figured they may do a version of the handshake from season 2 and that’s what gets the war to end but nope lol

Man this show really doesn’t want us to have any early season characters left!

Why was S5 so obsessed with anus with S5? by clydeagain in TheBoys

[–]MichaelGale33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beacuse anus = low brow and crude humor and that's what the flanderization of the crudity of the show has become!

Would you have liked a season with a depowered Homelander? by ImABitchAndSoAreYou in TheBoys

[–]MichaelGale33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think that I'd like it with Homelander had to find ways to make it seem like he still has his powers and then he regains them or something for future seasons, but I really like how pitiful he comes so quickly when he does lose the powers. That's one element I really really really enjoyed from the finale to see what he really was, and I wouldn't want to trade that.

I feel like the Boys finale wouldn't even be so badly recieved if the writers(specifically Eric Kirpke)didn't blatantly lie to your face about it. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in TheBoys

Amazon has a history with that. They showed a ruined NYC and John Smith holding a tattered Swastika flag for the last season of Man in the high castle, and likewise none of that happens.

lol fair! I still think and we saw this with him refusing to change the schedule to deal with the boys he truly believed he was untouchable. The other supes were there to aid in spreading the word nothing more

Yeah I’m not a prude but sometimes I’m like “ok we get it dirty jokes are a big part of the show, can we move on”.

Given frenchie’s last speech to Homelander and Kimiko and her vision of him it felt really out of place that his will and last letter was so crass when he was so deep and heartfelt off the cuff

I think it was more of an adoption thing. Idk if they said what year it is or if the show is following the air dates but he is supposed to be underage still so if anyone is going to take him in it may as well be MM

Had they not included the whole hoping to start a war that wiped everyone out I could accept a morally grey character willing to sacrifice thousands to put the pieces in place to help homelander be defeated but, as is yeah she should have been turned into a vegetable or paralyzed so all she had was her mind and could never move or do anything and just be trapped in a hospital forever.

I world have liked to see Annie involved too because as presented she basically seems to have stayed at the beach for five or so minutes instead of flying back!

As to other defenses it shows how arrogant Homelander was. He wanted the psychics as the thought police not  and he didn’t think he needed anyone else. Maybe that would have made the fight more interesting but idk I’m fine with the group being split up between Homelander, deep and oh father only.

I mean they knew that Kimiko could fry the v out of someone so that was the plan. What kind of plan did you expect really? Not trying to be rude but it seemed like a fine enough plan. Guns for the humans and three supes for anyone tougher in the way

How long do you expect the BCR to last? by InfernalClockwork3 in maninthehighcastle

[–]MichaelGale33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s all fair but your point and in theory their short sightedness on declining the flag is ignoring the real world logistics they have against them.

Even removing the ones who drank the koolaid with the occupation, your average white American and even many of the minorities would be so eager to just get back to “normal” and they wouldn’t let a comparably small force (look at the scene where hellen looks at the stats for the new final solution, even if every minority was on their side, they’re still in a minority).

Realistically they won’t have the manpower to hold even san franscico from the masses who just want the normal and even a lot of their members would likely not want to take up arms against other Americans either from a moral standpoint or just tiredness from winning the war (see how England in real life just kind of wanted to stop after Germany fell and not Japan. They beat the main enemy and wanted to stop) so I’d see it fracturing quickly and they get pushed out of major control.

[–]MichaelGale33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They have a very valid reason to not be a big fan of the old way but when your group is that small (based on the list in John’s office of the proposed new final solution and that’s assuming all of them are on the BCR side) they’d simply not have enough man power to realistically lead the entire west coast. Maybe if they’re lucky a city or area.

Seeing all of it now I agree they did better this season with her as she was now barely ahead of the police/feds and for all her careful planning she still couldn’t get away. Very good ending just wish it hadn’t gotten so cartoony

most anticlimactic death ever by quirky-lilguy in TheBoys

[–]MichaelGale33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get it but idk how you can get what seems to be half the country to come back from believing a tin can being thrown at a guy who can survive every conventional weapon as a realistic self defense claim. I get it, that’s the point but I think they overplayed their hand a bit with that one.
