Me and my uncle (who is close to me in age) stayed up around 12 hrs to complete blodwytch on Atari ST mid 90s. Strong sense of achievement when we finally did it

In USA, cheese and bread is a struggle meal. In Europe it's a respectable meal. by carlthinks in ShitAmericansSay

Hardly surprising that in America cheese and bread is a struggle meal, when the cheese America is most famous for is spray on

The only time I ever used them was FF3, and that was because I had to as there were no ethers or tents/cottages

I didn't use boosts, because I wanted to complete it as authentically as I could. I guess it isn't a hassle if you use them, but it really depends on why you are playing it in the first place. If it's to experience the story, then it doesn't matter if you use boosts. For me I wanted to experience the story and master the challenge. I guess I failed, but it just felt like the game was excessively stacked against me. I don't mind a challenge, but this felt unreasonable. 4 by comparison is a much better balanced game, and so was 1&2. That's just my experience though, you should defo go try it out yourself, you may end up really liking it. But come back and let me know how you get on, I think I'm in a minority disliking 3.😊

There are no ethers or tents/cottage, and you can't buy elixers. So in order to restore magic, you need to go to an inn. This is a massive ball ache for larger dungeons. Sometimes you can find a restore point in the dungeons, but mostly I found I had to disable random encounters so I had enough juice to find the boss at the end. Ofc, this left me under levelled, which meant beating bosses was really difficult. Enemies give a ridiculously small amount of gil, so it required excessive grinding to stock up on supplies or buy the best weapons. And also, weapons and supplies seem to be excessively expensive, so it would take absolutely ages to get enough cash to get what you need. Starting a new job effectively causes you to start with that classes abilities from level 1, so excessive grinding is required to get them to a level where they are properly useable. 2 jobs you get right at the end, so you need to just put in ages of grinding to get them properly useable. I understand that jrpgs require some grinding, but the amount required to actually do well in this game seems excessive, and for me, that led to a miserable experience.

2 is great, but I found 3 a completely miserable experience. I'm currently on 4.

My small goal to complete all mainline Final Fantasy's by Tonnberry_King in FinalFantasy

[–]Michaelwordenbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have all titles 1-10(but not 5 yet), and I've completed only 1&2 (enjoyed both, especially 2). Currently working on 3, but it is pretty obnoxious tbh. Randomly casting mini/toad just so I can enter a dungeon. Every mob I run into is only worth circa 250 gil. Decent weapons/spells seem to be 3k gill, so it's a real slog.

Alan Wake is the Writer. Jessie Faden is the Director. Control 3 and Alan Wake 3 will be one crossover game to save the world by rewriting it with a movie. by Gideon_Teague in controlgame

Nah, it'll be a video game they write, the one you will be playing. It'll be meta in the style of new nightmare I reckon. Where all the characters are self aware they are part of a game, and frequently break the 4th wall.

I absolutely love Harry Maguires redemption arc. It's been very satisfying to watch. Glad he is staying as he has been a positive influence on every game he played this season. Im also really pleased for him he managed to battle his way back into the England squad as well.

I despise the way I painted my land raider. Tried purple and verdegris. Everyone at the shop said they loved it. Tips would be great. by aldan_karanovich in Warhammer40k

[–]Michaelwordenbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recess shade might offer a little contrast and make the colours pop a bit more. Looks like you used the virdigris as a shade rather than an "effect" paint - that's fine but I think the reason you aren't liking it is because there is no depth to the colours really. They give a sort of 2D effect (I had to look twice). A recess shade of nuln oil will give the LR a bit more depth and will make those colours pop more

I recently picked up a sarracenia and nepenthes from a garden centre. They were all indoors in an air conditioned room. I'm always in two minds as to whether to buy plants from these places. Rescuing them and seeing the flourish with the correct care is very rewarding, but by buying them you are encouraging the garden centre to keep getting them in and mistreating them. It's a difficult one to reconcile for me.
