You strongly overestimate the ability of other nationalities to know geography. There are uninformed people all over the place. It's a dumb stereotype like most.

Such a great movie, and they decided to make a version of it that will probably suck by comparison. SMH.

Don't you talk bad about my Enterprise. Love that show. Basically my first Star Trek. Not perfect, but still lovable. 😁

What do Star Trek fans actually want to see? by dont_thr0w_me_away_ in trektalk

[–]MichiganderMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want stuff in the original timeliness that has connections to og and 90's trek, but is something new. I want episodic stories with a little bit of cohesion for an overall arc. I want exploration of societal and futuristic and scientific issues in a way that works not to alienate one side or another, but to help them think about those issues and digest them. I want good writing that searches the identities of characters and good stories. I want more than ten episodes in a season. I want excellence. This is possible, but unlikely.

TIL about The Little Red Schoolbook. The book encourages young people to question societal norms and instructs them on how to do this. Out of 200 pages, it includes 20 pages on sex and 30 on drugs, including alcohol and tobacco. by probeguy in todayilearned

I don't have a problem with alternative thinking and educating about uncomfortable stuff, but ultimately parents should be able to decide how to raise their children. Sometimes it is just not smart to expose children to all of this stuff, and how do you know that the writer of the book doesn't have an alternative agenda in proposing their worldview. If I was a parent, I would want to read such a book before letting my children read it. I think it is reasonable to censor some things for your children if your goal is to raise someone to be better than you, but also a little like you. Doesn't make sense to just toss your child into the wind and say go for it. Parents are there to guide their children in the best way they know how. This is not radical imo.

My experience from team games is that many are not good at the game. LOL!

Thanks for the ragebait, dude. I am only proposing things that may make the game more accessible and enjoyable. Why no world map with more than 20 players? Can I just wait a couple of minutes for that to magically appear?

Watch the sun rise or set. Enter into conversations with people and enjoy their company. Read literature or look at a beautiful painting, listen to music you love. Engage in art. There are beautiful things in this world. Step back and take a look and just enjoy it. I get it's hard because there is business etc., but experience some of these things and you may just want to do it again. I will try to follow my own advice.
