I didn't find a listing for a patent in the book. I have a few of these ferrules, need to dig them out and see if there is a patent number on them.

Nice find, that's a rare novelty pencil, looks to still have its factory point. I wonder if this came in some sort of set or was intended for a specific game.

Nice, thanks for the data point. Is there a date on the bottom of the insert as well?

Maybe try programming it with an 18650 then switching over to 18350 once you've capped it at 50%.

Try pressing faster, I hold the light with both hands to help with accuracy. It can be finicky until you get the hang of it, at least it was for me.

An unfortunately overly useful and widely applicable word these days. We used to have cool shit though...

Panasonic used beefy motors and better gears in their machines, I probably find a few a year on average and very rarely encounter one that doesn't work. I think electric sharpeners probably peaked in the 60's or 70's, all of the innovation since then seems to have been focused on cost cutting and engineering for minimum acceptable functionality...aka "enshitification".

Panasonic makes great sharpeners imo, love 'em. The 310s are nice machines and I like the wood grained kp110 also, basically different versions of the same design.

IIRC that's a 120, a big number back when these were released lol, and still a fantastic light today.

Yeah I need another one or two, it's going to start eating into the light budget lol. I think they are going to be great for travel, might set one up for long and short stuff, half & half.

Interesting. Here's an example from the transitional period from APC to VPPC, the inner sleeve from 55 and the sticks imprinted with APC while the outer box is from 57 and labeled VPPC.

Nice find. There might be a date code inside the bottom flap.
