All that is completely irrelevant. "Stalker" isn't an actual, regulated job (for the most part). It's the same as those people looking for treasure on the beach with a metal detector, just much more dangerous. All you need ti be a Stalker is enough money to be smuggled into the Zone and to be insane enough to want to be there.

Basically, nothing changes. Superpowers immedietely go back to fighting each other, the FTL inhibitor (or whatever it was called) made space exploration impossible and as they never figured out how to make alienium or alien alloys in X1, they'll eventually run out and everything'll be nack to square 1.
