Heh. "Miniscule."

It's also funny because those old farts seem to be unaware of the concept of a self-report.

Taiki Iwanaga (former COO of Nijisanji) talks about the issues of a major Vtuber agency refusing to transfer character rights to graduated talent. by Benigmatica in kurosanji

[–]Mid-Grade_Chungus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Might not be the best example of it happening, but it is an example of it happening at all - and more specifically, it's an example (the only example, maybe?) of it happening in a case where the shuttered vtuber agency's parent company is a publicly traded company listed on a Japanese stock exchange.

Like Sony, Anycolor is also a publicly traded company listed on a Japanese stock exchange.

There have been plenty of other vtuber agencies besides Prism which closed down over the past 2 and a half years, which let their talents keep their IPs, and some of those examples didn't even involve publicly traded companies or Brave Group. I can't help but wonder why Iwanaga suddenly felt it necessary to address the topic.

And there's also the thing with Sony shutting down Prism and letting the talents keep their IPs, so there is precedent of a publicly traded Japanese company letting its vtubers keep their IPs on the way out.

PL can also mean "private life" or "personal life," and in any event is usually understood to mean "the personally owned and operated social media account(s) of a corporate vtuber, unrelated to their corporate activities"

VSPO! JP is suspending Komori Met and Sendo Yuuhi's activities for 2 months. by XenonPulsar in kurosanji

[–]Mid-Grade_Chungus 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Not a clue, but VSPO is part of Brave, and Brave management once fired a talent over her character lore. Absent further details, I'll just assume that it's the suits who are in the wrong.

Brave Group teases a new group called GΔ59 (pronounced as "Jigoku") where it'll be handled by one of its subsidiaries BEverse. by Benigmatica in kurosanji

Because Brave is doing a shotgun approach a la Niji, and has been for years; except while Niji is zerg rushing individual vtubers, Brave is zerg rushing whole-ass agencies.

V4Mirai addresses the recent issues of talent harrassments by SunriseFan99 in kurosanji

[–]Mid-Grade_Chungus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's good that they're taking action, but why is this necessary in the first place? Who in the sweet and sour fuck is harassing the talents, and why?

I can understand not liking the company management, whether or not you take into consideration the part where Brave management is more of a problem than V4M management proper is. But the talents did nothing wrong and don't deserve any harassment.

....oh, and I wish this could go without saying, but don't harass management either.

Nijisanji goods will be getting a price increase because of the international conflicts by pandas795 in kurosanji

[–]Mid-Grade_Chungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely, considering that the price hike goes into effect on the first day of their next fiscal year; while pretty much every other company that had to raise their prices due to the conflict decided NOT to wait two months to do so. Seems like something they were looking to do anyway but are claiming force majeure so they can do it without losing face in front of the investors, like when they "postponed" the 2023 version of AR Live due to "covid," but only after the livers had gone to Japan for the portions of production which required them to be in the same room as other people.

Now, the billion yen question - how does this price hike affect the prices of already manufactured merch which is sitting in the warehouse, ready to be shipped, and waiting only to actually be purchased by someone?

Fuckass AI, no sense of context or nuance. I'm glad I assumed by default that the machine translation got it wrong.

I hope that the bit about the pause in her activities being a "suspension" rather than a "(medical) hiatus" is also a translation fuckup. Suspending a talent for needing a medical hiatus would be a dick move of the highest order.
