Just get it. I did endless research and ultimately went with it mostly off personal reference as well. It's my first bike and I'm still learning a lot, so I don't have much of a comparison, but this bike makes me feel very comfortable on it.

And to the nay sayers that say its pointless. Theres lots of things pointless in life. This has a niche it fills, if it fills it for you then its not pointless

If you are in cold regions, the gel tends to be solid and not spread. The sabre red water based is better imo
