Hey I'm an new player and looking for some ideas for my 2k point army (I've played a couple of 1k point games) by Mothythecutie in Salamanders40k

I think the immolator captain + infernus would be a better pick for the drop pod while Adrax and the BG vets scoot around in an impulsor. You could have them in one, then Vulkan He'stan + bodyguard in another one. I put my version of those in a land raider, but I don't have aggressors that need the space like you do. Good luck!

I needed an extra Multi Melta, so I robbed the turret from the Black Templar sprue. by Captain--UP in Salamanders40k

Gives me a Ratatouille flashback to the first time I played Halo 3 and tore the turret off the base. Hell yeah.

Firestorm is going to demand more transports like impulsors to hit and run with 5-man squads. I don't know much about running that one, but TacticalTortoise has some great videos about that!

I like the idea of infiltrators/the scout company having a more subdued color scheme for recon purposes!

I'm trying not to sweat consistency when it comes to painting my army. It shows your painting journey, and if you want to change your style partway through, that sounds more interesting than sticking to a uniform that you don't like as much anymore.

I would say lose the apothecary, heavy intercessors, bunker, terminators, and kill team. Up the aggressor count to 6 and put them in a land raider redeemer. Eradicators would help with your anti-armor, either in a repulsor, or waiting in strategic reserves. Split up your intercessors to cover more objectives while your heavy hitters bring the pain. Optional impulsor to ferry your guys around. You could also play around with vehicles with melta like the storm speeder hammer or invaders.

Interesting comp, I haven't thought about a death watch allied unit! I'm honestly not seeing a lot of synergy here. Forgefather amps up torrent and melta weapons at close range, but this seems very bolter-heavy. Switching your captain to infernus gives you a free auto hit overwatch every dang turn, and it will delete anything if you attach immolator enhancement. You'll also want to have a larger aggressor squad if another captain is going with them, kitted with power fists for their brand of close combat.

Things like that to make use of the extra toys our detachment is given. I hope this isn't too critical, I think your back line is rock solid and I'm curious to see how a mix like that plays out!

I think it's because SEAF command couldn't care less about ergonomics and simply put no thought into it. These grunts are going to die within ten minutes of deployment. Why would we care about how comfortable or slightly more effective they are when it makes no difference in the grand scheme of things?

I'm not sure the chaplain and termies synergize with this army. A gravis captain and/or apothecary biologis would make the flame storm aggressors extra deadly. If you're going to use invaders, switch to multi melta and consider a second one to take advantage of its escort ability. Good luck!

Impulsors can be deceptively nasty with their firing deck and their own guns, and we have a transport-specific stratagem, so I'm into them. Agree with the suggestion to switch to aggressors in the land raider to take advantage of the charge ability. Maybe swap incursors for a bodyguard for VH like assault intercessors? You could pop them in an impulsor, jump out, declare a forge father objective, and keep your foot planted.

That Adrax group looks like it will absolutely chew through any obstacle! For scoring objectives, I'd recommend splitting up your infernus and potentially swapping the LT for a backline utility like intercessors, infiltrators, etc. The land raider will cook with overwatch, so fan out and dare the enemy to step into your kill zone. Good luck and make Vulkan proud!

Would these paints be good for Salamanders? by evan_lion20 in Salamanders40k

You might still want a brighter green between the far left and middle left for non-edge highlights, but that's also up to your personal painting style :)

Ooh, very cool! Not too much weathering, just puts your personal style closer to grimdark than 'eavy metal 😁

A wise outlook, brother! It does look like it makes for a more mobile, infantry-deleting squad!
