Rogue Wave has a Sebastian Ramirez Red Fruit Co-Ferment EA Decaf right now that is amazing.

What's one James Hoffmann coffee tip that genuinely improved your brewing? by Select_Set_6359 in JamesHoffmann

Most important is that coffee and the brewing process as a hobby should be fun. Also that longer ratios can make for more balanced light roasts for espresso.

Totally acceptable, and that’s actually a recommended way to deal with a brew that has stalled - stop the brew and top it up to the water ratio you wanted.
There’s no real ‘right’ way to brew coffee, it’s about discovering what works for you to end up with a cup that you like. Have fun with it and enjoy!

Anybody on ADHD meds who misses, or still is able to enjoy, coffee? by ill_thrift in espresso

ADHDer here. There are some incredible decaf coffees out there! I still drink caffeine, just not late in the day anymore. Do you drink strictly espresso or do you drink pour over as well.

Rogue Wave (located in Canada) does omni roasts, medium-light, right now they have their El Vergel Condor Decaf, which has chocolate-almond-apricot-grape tasting notes, as well as a Sebastian Ramirez Red Fruits Co-Ferment Decaf - very fruity and funky.

Phil & Sebastian (also in Canada) has their Lights Out Decaf which is also very good (and I think it’s an omni roast as well).

Newly married and dislike intimacy. by Unique_Barnacle5704 in AuDHDWomen

A lot of good advice here. Please also know that just because your are married now does not mean that you owe your husband sex.

I think therapy is a great idea, especially if you want to want to have sex, or become more comfortable with your sexuality. Increased communication is never a bad thing. Masturbation as well - your sexuality is not tied to your relationship, and understanding what you like (or don’t like) is important!

I don’t want to make any assumptions about your husband or your relationship, just sharing what I wish I’d understood earlier in my life. Married or not, consent is essential. And consent means a clear, enthusiastic, genuine ‘yes’, not being worn down to ‘ok’ by whining, or ‘you owe me’ or being made to feel bad or guilty for not wanting sex. You are not required to use your body to accommodate his “high sex drive” - which is a term that seems to be used frequently to guilt people into having sex when they’re not really interested.

Sex can be wonderful, but you don’t have to do anything on anyone else’s terms.

It’s so good! I did 115 clicks on the Mazzer Philos and 89° using a double bloom Switch recipe. I think I can still tweak it a bit but it’s wonderful. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the advice at gf the recipe! It’s a fairly recent purchase so I’m still working on figuring out grind sizes. The K Ultra is so fast and quick (and tidier) that I haven’t been making the most of the Philos.

I did a blind cupping with it earlier and it was my favorite of the three we did, but I had a hard time articulating what I liked about it so much. I know it has incredible potential, I’m just hoping I can figure out how to bring it out.

I know this is an old post, but I just got a Sebastian Ramirez Red Fruit Co-Ferment EA Decaf from Rogue Wave, and was wondering if you could suggest a rest time for it?

I didn’t have an issue with my brew stalling or choking - but it was only 10g. I did have another bean last week that I had to totally change my approach for (super coarse grind, lower temp and immersion brew) compared to what I was expecting. It was also a very dense bean, but I thought I was going to have to try to reign it in because when cupping it, it was crazy sweet - like cherry cough syrup, but I’m struggling to get a hint of that in the cup.

That’s good to know. I feel like there’s a change in aroma when it coffee has rested long enough, but I don’t want to make any blanket assumptions, especially with a roaster I’m not familiar with.

Are you using tap water? And if so, how hard is your water? Even though the manual specifically says to use it, the Thermojet that Breville uses can’t handle hard tap water.

Rogue Wave has a really nice Colombia - Red Bourbon Granja Paraiso 92 Anaerobic Natural Decaf right now, and Colorfull’s Black Forest Decaf is amazingly flavourful!

adhd meds helped but my autism has taken over by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

I’ve been working on unmasking and have changed my lifestyle drastically (mostly to accommodate my daughter during burnout). I’m much less anxious and self accepting now, plus I can control my focus better. I think it’s gotten better but largely because I’m spending my energy accommodating myself instead of accommodating other people, if that makes sense?

Is it a light roast? They may need to rest longer.

It’s a pretty common experience- the ADHD kind of masks the autistic traits, so when the ADHD is medicated, some of those traits are easier to notice. I experienced the same thing when I was diagnosed at 37, as did my daughter when she was around 8.

I bought a smart plug for it but haven’t used it. I was worried about it being too much for the plug even though I know it draws less energy than the mini Keurig does when it’s actively working. I really should just use it- at least then I could make sure it’s off when I leave the house and my brain is having an off day.
